I had a wonderful experience with Coastal OBGYN. During my pregnancy I visited the Westerly office and rotated between Joann, Vivi and Kathalina. When I went into labor, Leigh-Anne delivered my daughter. Even though the first time we met was at the hospital, I felt fine after meeting her and talking to her for five minutes.
Our group is committed to your health, and our goal is to make your pregnancy and childbirth a wonderful experience. During your pregnancy you will meet with each of our providers. We want you to get to know our group and ensure your continuity of care. One of our midwives along with physician back-up is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies and of course normal labor and birth.
Leigh-Anne Sastre grew up in Milford, CT and graduated with her nursing degree from St. Joseph College in West Hartford. She spent 18 years working as a labor & delivery nurse, and childbirth educator in several hospitals and communities across Connecticut, and has been at L+M Hospital since 2006. She graduated with her Midwifery Degree from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY with honors in 2016.
The Certified Nurse-Midwives at Coastal Ob Gyn & Midwifery give expectant families more choices in the birth experience, empowering women to be even more a part of the decision-making process surrounding their labor and delivery. Midwives encourage women to become active participants in their health care and learn more about the full range of options for their women's health care needs.
At Coastal Ob Gyn & Midwifery, we enjoy providing care from pre-conceptual planning all the way through the birth of your baby. Our staff and providers have the experience to guide you through this exciting life event. We offer both physician and certified nurse midwife care in a collaborative approach.

Came in, and the GYN I was given was decent, but how the reception and medical staff handled my situation just boggles my mind. I came in for a procedure, and 10 minutes before I was about to walk in, I was told the procedure wasn't covered by insurance. I told them yes, it was but would reschedule for them to realize it is covered. I got a callback, and they apologized that it is covered. I waited to reschedule. When I called to reschedule, another individual in the medical area said it's not covered. I said yes, it is. Here we go again. She claimed to be a teacher of medical billing and coding

With my first 2 pregnancies I had nothing but great experiences here but this pregnancy has been such a horrible experience, first off the front desk is SOO rude and always has attitude issues I even over hear them talk about other patients and I’m just like wow… second of all the midwives I’ve had lately are so cold, uninviting and when I tell them how I’m feeling it’s always “oh ok well that’s normal” I cried to one midwife and she just gave me the most blank look that after that I don’t even say anything when I go n I just let them weigh me check the heartbeat so I can leave

Although I had a phenomenal experience with my gynecologist at this office, the lack of respect and belittling behavior presented by the staff of receptionists/nurses has tarnished my entire experience. They will also regret to give you any courtesy when your doctor has suddenly left the practice and will fail to refer you to a new doctor. Avoid this particular office if you have the resources to do so.

I really love the providers at this office; they're absolutely wonderful, but recently I've had some unsavory experiences with the front desk. I'm not sure if newer staff was hired, or I just never interacted with the individual(s) until recently. The last time I was there for an appointment, the staff who checked me out was very blunt and sort of rude. She made me feel as though I was annoying her and like I was taking up her time. I tried to call today to reschedule an annual, and the first thing I was told was (in a not-so-polite tone) "annuals are booking out into April." I had to look at my

I had a great experience with Coastal OBGYN throughout my pregnancy, birth, and post-birth check up. Should I become pregnant again, I will return to them.
They have a handful of midwives there who are all wonderful. They are each unique individuals with their own personalities so you will undoubtably vibe well with at least one of them. Personally, I liked them all even though they were all a bit different.
While you don't get to choose who your midwife will be - because babies come when they want to and will be lovingly greeted by whichever midwife is on call - trust that you will be well taken

Do yourself a favor and head straight to the back of the building. That's where you'll find the entrance to the doctor's offices. Once inside they're the first door to the right hand side. There is some seating provided in a small waiting. I arrived before my scheduled appointment and it took less than 10 minutes to be called back. The patient's room was as well as the restroom were very clean. Staff seem friendly.

Was referred to this practice by a doula that told me they would support my natural birth plan.
Sat through an hour of basic data entry with a midwife that yelled at her computer twice for being “stupid”. Really?
She told me in a rude and unprofessional manner to watch my weight, although my previous doctor told me I was doing great.
I told her I was experiencing serious back pain from an accident prior to my pregnancy, she told me there was nothing she could do - no referrals for help, that it was “normal”.
And last but not least she told me at my next check she would be vaccinating

Dr.Watson has been a blessing to me. First visit and within a few weeks I had my procedure scheduled. He is a doctor that listens and explains things so that you can understand them. His bedside manners are fantastic. The staff in this office actually calls you back or you are transferred to speaking to them and actually don't have to leave a message. I am thankful that I switched doctors and am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.
