Since 1978, as others closed their doors to those without private health insurance, we have continued to open ours. From a single clinic we have now expanded into a network of health care facilities along the I-70 corridor from Parachute to Avon, and along the Roaring Fork Valley to Basalt. As a nonprofit, community-led, Federally Qualified Health Center system, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, integrated health care for all.
We firmly believe health care is a basic human right, not a privilege. Our system integrates medical, dental and behavioral care - a necessary measure for the vulnerable, who often show up in our clinics with medical problems related to poor teeth, substance abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety and other complicated combinations.

Services
Mountain Family works hard to increase the availability of dental care in our region. We offer full-service dentistry at our Rifle clinic and our Mobile Dental Van in El Jebel, as well as preventive care at our SMILES Dental Project locations. To further increase access to care, in 2018 we will expand our Basalt clinic to include full-service dentistry.
Mountain Family's licensed professional therapists and licensed addiction counselors offer a wide range of mental health and substance use disorder therapies, along with counseling for psychological, social, marriage and family challenges. Our therapists are part of your care team, working closely with medical providers to improve your total health.
Mountain Family Health Centers has received Title X funding to help provide contraceptive services and preventive health screenings at our integrated health center in Edwards. Title X is designed to prioritize the needs of low-income families, adolescents and uninsured people, who might not otherwise have access to these health care services.
Mountain Family's Care Coordination Team works with you and your providers to help you obtain any related health care services and community resources you may need. Whether you need to manage a complex medical condition, get a referral to a specialist, find help with transportation, or research financial assistance for prescriptions, Mountain Family's Care Coordination Team is here to help.
Another way Mountain Family Health Centers cares for you and your family is by decreasing your total cost of health care. One way we do this is by participating in the federal government's Section 340B phamaceutical pricing program (regulated by the Public Health Service Act 42 U.S.C. 256b).
As a federally qualified health center (FQHC), Mountain Family is eligible to access medications and pharmaceuticals at reduced prices, thereby stretching our care dollars further.Mountain Family also contracts with several local pharmacies as part of this program. These include City Market (Kroger), Safeway(Eagle County only) and Walmart.

I am always disappointed with the staff. I like my doctor but I'm considering moving to another clinic.
The front desk constantly send the phones to the answering service at random times during business hours and if you do leave a message no one will get back to you. I've had several tele health appointment that I've missed because I needed a new link to the appointment but couldn't get ahold of the front desk. I have spent days waiting for scripts and calling everyday but one will actually send it.
The staff has no follow through, if you ask for a call back or leave a message they will not get

If I could rate this place less than one star I would. The lobby is disgusting and you can't even find a clean chair to sit on. The front desk ladies were also rude. We got rushed through our appointment and it was the first time that a doctor didn't show us an x-ray after getting one done. We are going to another doctor next week to get a second opinion because of how horrible our experience was. (Glenwood Springs location)

I've read reviews, and every time I have an appointment I am greeted with smiles and respect. And the ladies at check in desk call me by my name. When I wait in line and get to counter I make sure I give them name, date of birth, address, and phone number, and whom I'm there to see and time of appointment. And things flow easily. I'm checked in and asked to take a seat. People come in with attitude, and think there better than the people waiting. Dr Aguirre is a wonderful Doctor and is always on point with me and my family. Be on time and make things easier or if your running late give acall. There

I have Made two appointments to see the Psychiatrist/ Psychologist and both were canceled the day of my appointment . Now they want to set up a third appointment another month away ! Every time these appointments are canceled has been due to the doctor calling in sick! When you have socialized medicine and I am a doctor at that clinic i would never work either! Pathetic , disturbing service to the local community, this place should be ashamed of themselves!

While traveling through Colorado, our daughter fell ill and needed medical treatment. With no urgent care facility around, we turned to Mountain Family. Despite us not being patients, Mountain Family fit us in within MINUTES of our call (by chance, we were staying right next door). Our daughter received excellent, personalized care from Dr. Claire Graff, who considered our individual needs as a result of our travel and tailored her treatment accordingly.

Mountain Family has helped me and the people I love when we have needed it most. Dental, medication, infections, understanding Medicaid and CICP, even therapy. I truly value them and I am thankful they are there for us.
They are very popular and very busy. They may not always be on time but they're trying to help so many people. I'm glad to have access to a wonderful organization full of kind and helpful people.
