Fast forward to medical school many years later. It was then that I really felt the effects of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis as I studied and struggled many days to keep up. I had a year long bout of heart palpitations and vertigo that baffled several doctors, including a cardiologist. Excellent, changed my life! Dr Maturo patiently worked with me, adjusting my perimenopause bioidentical hormones, until all my bad symptoms were gone. Then she again worked with me after I hit menopause, for more adjustments. I feel great, feel like myself again! It is worth the process, but may take a few rounds of checking your bloodwork (my insurance covered lab work), but have patience with the process. And be sure to tell Dr M ALL your symptoms, for me, anxiety was a huge one that my levels weren't quite right. Dr M can only help you FULLY if you're honest with ALL your symptoms

I had been questioning my health for years, and had a multitude of blood tests, but no one could figure out what was wrong with me until Dr. Lisa diagnosed me with Hashimoto’s! I have been going to Dr Maturo for at least 12 years now, NEVER have I felt rushed(usually is me that’s rushing them), Dr Maturo and her staff have an extremely warm and friendly bedside manner and (BIG ➕) Considerably cheaper than the other places with tons of commercials. That was all the help I received. My current thyroid therapy and brht was kept the same because lab results looked good. I highly recommend Dr Maturo for your hormone needs. I was feeling so fatigued and exhausted and had tried different diets and things at home but nothing was working. I got tired of my friends recommending celery juice and essential oils so I wanted to see a Naturopathic Doctor who has the science and education to look at my hormones. Before coming to see Dr. Maturo I was overwhelmed, scared and confused about my thyroid condition. On my first appointment I was greeted by the office manager Byron I believe his name was and he was nothing but professional and explained any questions I had about my appointment as well as paper work.
I waited only a few minutes to be called back in to see the doc which is a plus as I've waited HOURS at previous doctors. The MA Julie was very efficient and fun as she has the coolest accent as she's from the UK. She was able to help ease my anxiety

My initial experience with Dr. Maturo was great - as the other reviews said, she was very polite and seemed interested in helping solve the issues I was facing. I never felt "heard" when visiting, but she changed prescriptions, etc., so I thought maybe it was just a personal disconnect. A good doctor is more important than friendliness, so I was totally on board!

I had a phenomenal experience with Dr. Maturo. She sat down and really listened as I explained my concerns with my thyroid. She patiently outlined some great suggestions on how to improve my current treatment (without being pushy or condescending like so many other doctors). I am beyond thrilled with my visit with Lisa. I have been to several doctors in LA and I am not putting anyone else down but none of them gave me the time or the hope that Lisa has. She was caring, compassionate, knowledgeable. She was so thorough in explaining my blood work. She gave me hope. I already feel better. I'm so fortunate that I met Dr. Maturo. I just couldn't understand why I was so tired, why it almost hurt to face my day, then I found out from her that I had Hashimoto's and I was vitamin D deficient: I needed thyroid meds and some vitamins to make me feel better. My hair is even getting thicker. If you aren't sure why you cannot lose weight and feel like garbage, this may be the place for you.

I cannot say enough about the incredible care I am receiving here! When I first came in, my hormone levels were a nightmare. I gained a ton of weight from a medicine I was on and just felt like garbage! Now, I can feel myself getting back to normal, which is great!
I am always seen on time and feel like I am a priority to them. Both the doctor and her staff answer whatever questions I have (in great detail!) and are kind, supportive and helpful! There is also the cutest, most well behaved rescue dog on site, which is really quite wonderful! :)

I have a new life, in great part to Dr. Maturo, and her approach to bio-identical hormone replacement therapy! I had initially recieved treatment via "pellet" therapy at another clinic,and did not notice any great results.
