William L Danks Funeral Home
Thank you for visiting the William L. Danks Funeral Home website. As a family owned and locally operated funeral home, caring for families of Ohio County for over 50 years, we know how important respect and dignity are to your family. That's why we care on a personal level, not because it's our business, but because it's our way of life.

We know that a funeral home with deep roots in the community, and relationships with local family and friends, can best help those who are grieving. That is why we are still family owned, locally operated, and we continue to be deeply committed to providing only the best to the families we serve and the community that we call home.
Services
Any time of the day or night, the first thing to do when a death occurs is to call us right away. We will provide you with valuable guidance and assistance, whether the death has occurred locally, or out of the area. Our caring and knowledgeable staff will help you plan a funeral service that will honor your loved one with respect to your family's personal wishes and beliefs.
William began his career in funeral service in 1948 at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg, Kentucky. It was there that he served his apprenticeship. He graduated from the Kentucky School of Embalming in 1950 and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He married Ima Sue Dorris in 1952, just before he was transferred to Keflavik, Iceland for one year of service as a qualified Weather Observer.
If your family's personal preference is earth burial, there are many options for designing a personalized ceremony to remember your loved one. At William L. Danks Funeral Home we feel that each funeral service should be a personal event to meet the specific beliefs and wishes of each individual family.
Funeral planning before the need arises is a straight-forward process that requires nothing more than your willingness to invest a bit of your time. And it provides the luxury of time; time to think it over, discuss it with your family and friends. Planning your funeral is one of the most thoughtful and sensible things you can do for your family.
Thumbies feature a fingerprint to convey the power of the human connection. That can mean a bond with someone in your life you hold dear, or someone who has passed on, but with whom you wish to retain a tangible link. We can forge Thumbies from the print of any finger, or even from the imprint of a hand or foot.

My dad died in Florida. The funeral home there did an abominable job embalming him! We transported him to KY because that was where Mom and Dad’s plots were. Mr Danks and his son told us they would do their best to make Dad look like he was supposed to look. They did the most AWESOME job making Daddy look like he was supposed to look !! Danks is the absolute BEST!!
