The Old Clockworks
My wife Lynn and I have been repairing and restoring antique and fine mechanical clocks in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC area for over 30 years. All clock repair and restoration work is performed by us on premises. We work by appointment so that careful attention is paid to you and your clock.

Clock repair estimates are given while you wait so you can see why your clock may need to be repaired or just need routine maintenance. Either way, we encourage customers to ask questions about their clocks. The more you know about your clock, the more you will enjoy it for many years to come. Clocks are our passion!

I'm more than pleased with my experience at The Old Clockworks Inc. I dropped my clock off to Lee not knowing what to expect being that I had never been to a clock repair shop before. He walked me through the process and I left feeling at ease, knowing that a true professional was working on my clock. Then, I came to pick up my complete restored clock and I had the pleasure of meeting with Lynn. We talked about my clock and other clocks in my family for about 30 minutes. She took the time to educate me on the clocks I have and what they can do. Thank you Lee and Lynn for taking such pride in your

Positive: Quality, Value
The Old Clockworks has been servicing a grandfather clock built by my husband's grandfather for about 8 or 9 years now. They were able to repair and keep it in working order after two other companies failed to do so. Recently they were able to provide telephone assistance when the clock stopped running.

I had a 70 year old cuckoo clock that was handed down through family. Hadn’t worked in 20 years. Lynn took a look and let me know her concerns up front, didn’t over promise. She got the clock working again, within the time frame that was communicated. Couldn’t be more satisfied!

The Old Clockworks is the finest service/repair clock shop I have used over the years. I have five clocks, three are antique clocks, one is a grandfather clock and a Chelsea clock. Lee and Lynn keep them running. One of the antique clocks in particular was in rough shape when I acquired it. Two other clock shops tried to repair it to no avail despite long wait times and big bills. Thanks to Lee and Lynn this Civil War era clock is up and running and has stayed that way. These folks have a passion for their business and it shows in the quality of their workmanship. Their prices are reasonable and

Sometimes you can do all your homework and dot every "i" and cross every "t" and you'll still come up short. That was my experience with The Old Clockworks. I found them online and combed through the mostly positive reviews. I hired them to tune up and re-hang the weights on a couple grandfather clocks because they seemed good. They weren't.
The husband and wife who run the company showed up at my house. They were some of the grumpiest, stand-offish people I had met, but I thought whatever, I'm hiring these people to fix my clocks, not be my pals.
So they proceeded to work on the clocks. I feel

Recently serviced and adjusted a 100 year old Seth Thomas Mantle Clock for me. Excellent work and it operates reliably and accurately again. I have lived in many locales around the country and had trouble finding competent service for the old clock in the past but these folks know what they are doing and get it done quickly at a reasonable price.

I have owned an 1840s "Vienna Regulator" pendulum clock (made in Germany) since 2011. "The Old Clockworks" shop has done maintenance and minor repairs ever since. They are meticulous about giving you an accurate date when they can begin work and an estimated completion date. They have also solved some minor problems for me over the phone. Their work is exemplary and accompanied by a clear explanation of any problem. The prices are fair and reflect the expertise of their work. Most highly recommended.

Lee & Lynn of The Old Clockworks are absolutely the best. Anytime I have a clock in need of repair (which is often) - they are my first and only call. I have worked with them for over 20 years. They are prompt, honest, and experienced.
Their knowledge of antique clocks is unparalleled, and is matched only by their level of professionalism in repairing, refurbishing and maintaining my clocks. I can't imagine allowing anyone else to handle my family heirlooms but The Old Clockworks. If you need this type of service, they are, hands' down, the ones to call. I feel very fortunate to be able to depend

I had them repair a cuckoo clock from my mother that had fallen off the wall. Some of the internal pieces were bent and some outside pieces were broken. They did an amazing job, the clock works perfectly now and the outside looks like it was never damaged. Highly recommend them.
