We specialize in solar pool heating applications and have over 40 years of experience in all aspect of design, installation, and maintenance of solar pool heating systems for both residential and commercial application. We also have extensive experience in solar domestic hot water (DHW) heating and photovoltaic (PV) applications.

Our unique and exclusive Self-installation Program - do it yourself and save $$$ (pool heating systems only). Saturday self-install seminars (May-August at Oregon warehouse only) - we show you how-to install your own system and answer your specific installation-related questions, . Throughout this website, there are hyperlinks to printable documents and data in Adobe PDF format.

Whether you have an in-ground pool (IGP) or above ground pool (AGP), solar is the most economical and cost-effective method of heating any pool in any climate during the typical swim season for that area. If you are now using a gas or electric heater (even a heat pump) to heat your inground or larger above ground pool, the payback (return on investment) for a solar pool heating system is generally less than 3 years just from energy savings alone.
Both systems contain polymer panels and solar loop tubing in a closed loop design with an external heat exchanger in a circulation module that transfers solar heat to the potable water in your water heater or additional solar storage tank. Basic system (48 sq.ft. of panel) comes in one easy to ship box.
Solar controls should be an integral component of any solar system, especially inground pools (or larger above ground pools). They are essential for maximizing the solar performance of any pool solar systems even if you are in a consistently sunny area. By accurately monitoring the available solar radiation and your pool's temperature, they allow the solar system to function only when it can add heat to your pool or not depending on your needs.
To get a better angle to the sun. Solar panels perform best when solar radiation strikes them at a right angle most critical for PV and DHW but much less so for pool heating. Racks can be homemade or built professionally out of wood or other materials. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer the GroundPro and ProRack all-aluminum racking system designed for our FAFCO panels.
Solar is certainly one very important way to do this. Pool blankets or covers are an integral part of solar heating in cooler climates to help retain heat. 85% of the heat loss from a pool is off the water surface as the warmest water evaporates into the air. In conjunction with solar or by themselves, covers reduce water loss and thus reduce heat loss from a pool or any body of water.
