Spoto Wines
Spoto Family Wines is a ultra-boutique winery producing less than 500 cases of hand crafted wine per year. At Spoto Family Wines, we start with the best grapes from the Oakville appellation, which is in the heart of the famous Napa Valley. Production is extremely limited, so the end product is created with passion and attention to detail.

Spoto Family Wines is the first bonded winery in Sacramento (county), California that is owned and operated by the Spoto Family. The vintner, Stuart Spoto, makes primarily Bordeaux-style blends with grapes from Oakville, the heart of the Napa Valley. Additionally, Spoto Wines crafts other varietals such as Chardonnay, Viognier and Pinot Noir to provide a wide range of pairings for a customized experience.

I was given a bottle of Spoto as a gift and the moment we tried it we were hooked! This small Sacramento based winemaker produces some of the most amazing wines in California. We are now happy members of the Spoto wine club! I highly recommend the Oakville Cabernet! ❤️

Wow, wow, wow! The experience I had at Spoto Wines this past week was one of the most special winery experiences I have ever had. No argument that the wine is delicious, bespoke and extremely well made. The real reason we enjoyed our time so much are the owners. Stuart and his amazing wife (I'm so bad at names I believe its Christiane) craft care and attention into everything they do. This is a special experience that isn't like the big winery tours you take in most of Napa Valley. Their set up is an engineering marvel all from the generosity of their home. This fabulous family creates limited

Wine brings about an engaging and fulfilling experience. It is people coming together enjoying life minute by minute, sharing happy spirits and being grateful. It is trying something new, being inspired, creating new relationships, and experiencing the fruit of a winemaker's labor of love! The Spoto Family did it. No, let me rephrase that, THEY NAILED IT! They do what they love and they do it exquisitely here in Sacramento. I had the fortunate experience to receive a bottle of Spoto's Cabernet for my birthday some time ago from my brother and I was Wowed! Having such a love for it, we set forth

From my experience, each wine we've tried or brought home from Spoto Wines has been outstanding. We know the quality is going to be outstanding due to the care that is taken in the winemaking and barreling process. So, I take it for a special occasion dinner or enjoy with wine-lover friends. I give it 5 stars because every detail is covered in their outstanding cabernet, merlot, bordeaux blend or other red and each has its own unique story. From winemaker, Stuart Spoto to every one in the family, we're talking many years of experience and worth trying their wines!

2016 Spoto Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Special Cellar Selection Beckstoffer Amber Knolls Vineyard --- 97 points
Sitting down with the 2016 Spoto Beckstoffer Amber Knolls, it seems like only a few months ago...except THIS wine is the Special Cellar Selection which has spent four years in barrel. This wine was tasted after one hour of being allowed to slow-ox. Time has seemed to balance the "non-EBA"

Spoto Wines is delicous! Stuart is so knowledgeable, personable, and interesting. This family run winery has fabulous wines, unique blends, and great people. I loved learning about all of the various steps that the grapes go through from growing to crushing, then off to barreling, monitoring for taste while in the barrel, aging, and bottling. It was fascinating to learn all of these fun facts during our tour and tasting, even though I am sure my undestanding outlined above is very basic. My favorite so far is the Cuvee del Nonno! Try out a bottle or case!!

I have visited the Spoto Winery (private tour & tasting). Stuart Spoto's attention to detail beyond his wine is incredible. First, he sources all his fruit from Oakville, arguably the best appellation in the world! He then has top-notch equipment, extreme cleanliness and organization, and quality control from his labels to his corks, bottles and foils and of course, his wine! In short, Stuarts total attention is well beyond his "juice," which I have found to be nothing short of incredible. When I share a bottle of Spoto with a friend, I keep quiet about who and what Spoto

I Rummaged through the wine fridge and pulled out the 2006 Private Reserve Cab Sauv. I let it breath for a good 2 hours, then enjoyed with a couple of friends.
It paired very well with some (Cal Poly Style) Tri Tip, beans, bread & salad. What was the talk of the wine was the great warm mouth feel and how it lingered with each savory bite of meat and beans. Good spice and well balanced.
