In 1995, Gavin Newsom and Gordon Getty stumbled upon a magical piece of land in the heart of Oakville, Napa Valley. Inspired by one of Shakespeare's most memorable characters, Sir John "PlumpJack" Falstaff, who's fun-loving, down-to-earth disposition is only rivaled by his fierce loyalty to Prince Henry V, with whom he shares more than a few goblets of sack (wine) at the local tavern.
We pay allegiance to our world-class vineyard by crafting high-quality wines that honor the land, and we celebrate the convivial spirit of our namesake with their inviting, approachable style. Our wines are a reflection of our unique terroir, the passion and precision of our winemaker Aaron Miller, and our commitment to craft wines that consistently express the distinct qualities of our estate vineyards in the Oakville appellation.

Services
Positioned on the eastern side of the Oakville appellation, tucked below the foothills of the Vaca mountain range, our 42-acre estate vineyard is the cornerstone of our winemaking program here at PlumpJack Estate Winery. We are extremely fortunate to have several different soil types on our property, giving us the ability to cultivate and blend copious blocks with different flavors and characteristics to craft wines with intriguing complexity.
Join us for our annual Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Release Weekend, where Winemaker Aaron Miller and Managing Partner John Conover invite you to celebrate with a weekend of festivities.
Indulge in our Friday night private dinner with expertly paired cuisine to highlight our flagship Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville or partake in our Saturday release party rubbing elbows with our fantastic winemaker who will be on hand to sign bottles and give tours of our winery.

The people who left these awful reviews clearly have never been! They don’t serve food or have a cellar. However, the customer service was unmatched! Taylor sat down with us and answered every silly question we had. They are very knowledgeable and the wine is AMAZING! The views were incredible. This truly is a hidden gem. A must visit in Napa!

This place is disgusting, we took a tour down below where they keep the wine and saw rats and mice running around everywhere. I asked for red wine and got white and the crackers and cheese tasted old. And the bathrooms were very unsanitary. The staff was very unfriendly and rude. The entire day was a disaster, I definitely won’t be going back.

If I could give this winery 0 stars I would. I was eating with my girlfriends and I found a roach leg in my salami and cheese. the staff was so rude to me when I told them I went to throw up in the women’s bathroom it had diarrhea splashed all over the walls and toilet seat. to top it off as a sorry for what happened they gave me a bottle of wine….when I got home after everything that went on the bottle of wine had a DEAD fly in it. I will never be returning.

Seeing all these reviews about the Governor and "terrible wine" is ridiculous and literally has nothing to do with the people who work there or the wines themselves and a lot of people have too much time on their hands and love to whine and moan. The people who work here don't deserve to be harassed on a daily basis just because you have your own personal political issues. I have been coming here for 7 years and every time I do come, it is as special as the very first time I was introduced to it. PlumpJack is the reason I love Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay and Heavy Oakville Cab. I would

So listen, I haven't written a post about anything in quite some time. I'm at Plumpjack winery, Gavin Newsom's winery. And I have to tell you, the wine here is exceptionally good. The staff here very knowledgeable very friendly. The ambience is wonderful. Don't believe any negative hype about the winery, this winery is one of the better wineries that I've been to in quite some time. It's a smaller winery off the beaten path but like I said, it's very soothing and relaxing. Don't sleep on this winery, if you're Napa come through.

We had the most wonderful experience today at Plumpjack Winery. We tasted an array of wonderful wines. Serafin, our wine educator, was knowledgeable and kept our tasting interesting and fun! We had the pleasure of meeting the Wine Tasting Room Manager, Dino, and you couldn't have asked for a kinder man! After tasting 5-6 wines, we purchased 3-bottles and hit the road. Gorgeous estate, complex beautiful wines, and a fun atmosphere! We can't wait to go back soon! Thank you Dino and Serafin for being so inviting, kind, and welcoming! Hope to see you again soon!

I'm not sure why there's so many bad reviews recently but my wife and I had a great experience! The wine was exceptional, and our server was good company and informative. I only give 4 stars because $60 is a lot of money for a tasting of 4 or 5 wines. The views aren't anything special for Napa, but I would recommend trying this place for a few good wines. It's also dog friendly!

I am usually very easygoing when it comes to going out. I work in the industry so I like to give places the benefit of the doubt. This place had the worst service I've ever experienced, and on top of that the wine was subpar. It was a collective rudeness and coldness from all the workers. I felt very uncomfortable.
The Syrah that I try tasted like it had been open months.
I highly recommend you do not go there and waste your time and money.

The Plumpjack of old is no longer. The quality is on par with typical Napa wines. Many reviews of COVID non-compliance. The area could use updating and cleaning and the service more focused on making it a better customer experience. Not High on my list to visit. Do your research before booking here and not just because of availability.
