It was a rainy day, and Pierce Hulsey, Walter Ezel and a Furman student were the only three riders. They rode in the Marietta area long before the Swamp Rabbit Trail was in existence. In the Spring of 1979, (probably May or June) Pierce and Walter did the Spinners' first cross-state ride starting at Whitewater Falls and ending in McClellanville.

Running along the scenic Reedy River on a historic rail bed, the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail Network is a 22 mile multi-use greenway system. Opened in 2009, this trail has experienced continual growth and offers fun, non-motorized recreation and transportation opportunities. We've combined a casual ride (some at night) with an outdoor music performance in a beautiful setting.

What can you say about a gravel parking lot with portable toilets? Good public place to park for cyclists and runners for the Perimeter loop. At least on weekend mornings it busy enough that there's not much worry about people messing with your stuff. I definitely appreciate knowing there's a place to use the bathroom if needed because there isn't really any other place around the loop.
