Alfalfa Farm Winery is a family-owned and -operated vineyard in rural Topsfield, Massachusetts. We produce a variety of hand-crafted wines and host customized wine tastings for up to 80 guests in our tasting room. We are open for public tastings in the summer on Sundays from 1-5 p.m. and in the fall on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 p.m.

For a nominal fee, a souvenir etched glass taster is yours to keep, along with the opportunity to try five of our dozen or so hand-crafted artisan wines. Alfalfa Farm Winery, an award-winning winery, is set on the grounds of a 300-year-old farm that once served as a dairy. Your visit will be both tasty and informative, and it will help support local, sustainable agriculture.
Services
Marechal Foch: Our estate-grown red, the Foch never fails to deliver, with a rich opaque deep purple hue. Earthy, smoky aromas may include butter and rosemary. Cabernet Sauvignon: fundamentally speaking, Cabernet is full-bodied wine with dark fruit flavors. Ours is soft, however, light and juicy. Leon Millot: Another of our estate reds, the color is a rich garnet, the finish, soft n tannins makes this very good for sipping.
Rental consists of a 4-hour rental period, with an option to extend one hour for before / afterwards mingling, totaling 5 hours. All dining and bar tables with elegant white linens and custom garden chairs are included in your venue package. Venue Rental Fee includes ceremony time as needed, and the setup and breakdown of chairs and a rehearsal after 5pm during the week.
Richard, Trudi, can you briefly walk us through your story - how you started and how you got to where you are today. For most people, this time of year marks the end of summer. For the folks at Alfalfa Farm Winery in Topsfield, it marks the beginning of something: harvest season. Alfalfa Farm is much like other farms in the Topsfield, MA area.

Loved this place.
The wines were good, the whites especially good. They have a fantastic tasting. The staff was knowledgeable about the wine the process. She mentioned you can actually volunteer to pick the grapes starting in September.
Incredibly clean and Covid friendly we enjoyed our visit.

Wines were nothing special, all seemed to have a specific taste, something that a previous reviewer noted. The best of the white and red was the chardonnay. The pom was ok all of the others were average to below average. Pourer/server gave no info on the wines or winery.

The “bartender” opened me a new bottle of wine and poured out a glass full of fruit flys. Don’t trust the cleanliness of their wine making process.

A great local interactive winery. Yes you heard me right, interactive. This farm is always looking for volunteers during the summer months to pick and squish grapes to assist in the wine making process. Your assistance does not go unnoticed either. The wine is delicious and they offer a good variety of different wines. A lot of people see Alfalfa Farm from Rt. 95 but never really know what it is, check it out, you will not be disappointed. This is a great local business for those who are trying to be "green" to consider.
