Services
We do oil changes, but we like to call it periodic maintenance because we do so much more than change your oil when you bring it in for service. Regular preventive maintenance is arguably the single most important thing you can do as a car owner to keep your vehicle running safely and efficiently while saving you money on repairs in the future.
Virtually everything on modern vehicles has some sort of computer/electronics involvement. Riverside Automotive has the equipment and a technician on staff with the training and certifications to solve even the most complex issues. We also can program, code, initialize and set up modules, program or learn keys not only for keyless entry but also for immobilizer on most makes and models of vehicles.

We recently visited Riverside Automotive and purchased a remote car starter for our Mom for Christmas. They took care of everything, ordering, convenient scheduling, installation and instructions. They even happily gave her a ride downtown so she could drop her car off at the shop while she was at work :) I can't say enough great things about the experience. They were extremely helpful and patient and thorough with the job. It was important for us to do something locally so we could both support a local business and also have somewhere close by in case we had any questions or issues with the installation

Best shop in town. Been going here for years and they have yet to disappoint. Most recent visit was for an alignment, coolant flush and oil change. Had it done pretty quickly and they even fixed a few small annoyances for free like an exhaust rattle and aux port. Don’t plan on switching mechanics anytime soon. Mark and the other guys are great!

They were recommended to me by my local mechanic to install remote start on my 2014 Subaru Forester. Their customer service was excellent. They answered my questions and checked in before the service to confirm details. It took half as long as I expected, and cost 10% less than the quote. The tech who showed me how to operate the remote start with my keyfob was professional and knowledgeable, took time to answer all my questions. Overall, they made me wish I lived in the same town as their shop so I could take all my business there.

Service from all staff was excellent at Riverside from first contact with reception (didn’t get her name) to Matt and Mark. What we thought might be a problem with the security system turned out to be a corroded key preventing the car to start. They were able to diagnose the problem and program two new keys. We were relieved to find it was not a more complicated and costly repair. Thank you.

Matt the little weasel behind the counter with shirt feet and slender hands made comments under his stank breath to my gf about the whole situation as well. Let’s not forget the window they shattered in my Pontiac g6 that I had in there to get aligned as well. They did fix it after having it for a week. My steering wheel is still not centered after paying them twice to do it right. I’m going to take it to another shop to have it done right. Do yourself a favor and don’t

Drove from St. Paul to Red Wing to hike Barn Bluff, and stopped for lunch where our car wouldn't start. Called Riverside and Sara answered phone. Said she would drive to where we were and give us a quick jump, which she did and car started. Then she said there was no charge for her assisting us. She said after we made it to Barn Bluff and if the car wouldn't start again, to call back and she would come out again to help us. Sara you are the best! Not many places would help like you did. We got in our hike, the car started, and we made it home. What a great experience we had by calling Riverside

When I did an Internet search for auto repair shops and saw that Riverside Auto in Red Awing MN had 25 years of service - it was a no brainer! I had an emergency ‘car healing’ before taking a 4-hour trip that afternoon and they were very sympathetic and understanding of my situation. I was in and out of their shop in no time. And shortly thereafter, doing my road trip south. I mentioned this to my Wacouta neighbor Nancy and she, too, had an extremely positive experience. THANK YOU ALL!! (PS - the lady that checked me out was one of the most kind-hearted souls you’ll ever meet.)

They evaluated an older car for me to decide if I should fix it or get rid of it. They did an excellent evaluation! We are fairly new to the Red Wing area, and have not had a mechanic company. I am happy that we do now, for sure.
