MINUTEMAN RESPONDS to Mr M’s negative review. One thing we admit to is because we are so busy, we do not check feedback regularly or make needed updates to the website. This customer neglected to state the facts including the severe veneer damage hidden under the painted doors.
As is our practice we went above and beyond to please Mr M including replacing the doors at no cost. As the pictures demonstrate minuteman is committed to quality conservation and restoration. The piece came out beautifully despite its many unforeseen issues. We regret not responding sooner and are sorry this customer

My wife and I have an antique dining room table with five leaves that opens up on a system of sliders to 108 inches. The table belonged to my wife’s grandmother, so there’s a great deal of sentiment involved. The table’s sliders had broken, preventing the table from opening or closing properly; the tabletop was also long overdue for refinishing. Don Butler was able to repair the existing sliders, saving the time and expense of ordering a new set. He also did a beautiful job of completely refinishing the tabletop, as well as re-coating the five leaves to match, and the match is perfect! He

I had a vintage cabinet from the 30's stripped and "refinished" by Don. The doors he made for the cabinet were supposed to be walnut but turned out to be plywood. The doors are uneven and filled with filler. For a "woodworker" he should be ashamed of the quality of his work. The finish is rough and inconsistent. Not what I paid and waited for weeks for.
