Services
Headwaters Camping and Cabins is located on Big Bradford Lake in beautiful Northern Michigan! A number of warm water species are available in this 228-acre lake. These inhabitants of Big Bradford Lake include a variety of fish including rainbow trout, largemouth bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, northern pike, bream, bluegill, and rock bass.
Our Lake House and Cabins are a two night minimum rental EXCEPT for July & August when they are weekly rentals only (Fri - Fri). NO pets are permitted in the Lake House and Cabins. The pictures below will give you a sampling of interior, for more specific information or to book a reservation, please call our office at (989) 705-2066.
CAMPGROUND RESTRICTIONS: All campers must be BACKED onto the campsite gravel pad, except for pull-thru sites. If you pull through and hit a water spigot or do any other damage to the campground you will be charged a fee. The tongue of the camper must be facing the road. PLEASE park on the gravel pad only.

Exceeded our expectations. Staff was great and site (51) was spacious. ONLY remotely down side was the water - first time encountering what smelled to be black pipe for anything other than fire sprinklers and the smell is not great for bathing, LOL but it's doable.. other than that, nothing really negative to say - and that alone definitely would not keep me from returning. It's pretty hard to find many FHU campgrounds/sites in the area and we're glad we found them here.

We visited looking for property for sale in the area. We decided to camp at headwater campgrounds since it looked like a small family friendly campground. Upon arrival the younger man in the office checked us in and was very friendly. Overall the campground was nice but the customer service by the owners was terrible.
On day two we were taking the trash to the dumpster and we're stopped by the owners because we had pulled our pull behind in rather than backing it in - due to trees blocking our door side if our camper when backed in. The owners talked to me in a very condiscending fashion while

A smaller campground but that doesn't mean it lacks the amenities. The beach is crystal clear and clean, the park is on the quiet side, definitely more family oriented, not for party crowds and the staff is helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you're looking for a peaceful trip with the kiddos or just a couple looking to escape the rat race.

The positive note is that the beach is very nice and the water is clear. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly. However, before arriving, there was a miscommunication with the owner about the campsites we were using. She had a negative attitude and called my husband angry and wasn’t very understanding.
Even though the bathroom was clean, the showers only turn on for about 10 seconds at a time and there is no way to control the temperature. In addition to this, 3 families were charged over 100 dollars per family to use 2 campsites. Their rules and regulations clearly state that you can have up

Great campground with great owners. Mike and Edna went above and beyond to ensure we had a great trip. We rented two cabins for a week and we were there for a family reunion. Kid friendly environment. Weekly boat rental was well worth it as the lake is beautiful for swimming and fishing. Thank you for everything! We will definitely be returning.
