The Seat Cover Company is celebrating our 44th year this year, 44 years of automotive excellence taking care of your beloved convertibles, hot rods, classics and so much more! Seat Cover Company was founded in 1966 by Glen "Pluto" Platts. Platts immediately became a respected name in the upholstery and used car businesses.
Pluto opened one of the very first used car dealerships in the Salt Lake Valley and in 1966, he brought his sons aboard and opened the Seat Cover Center on 1400 S. Main St. in Salt Lake City, Utah. For the next 30 years, they honed their skills to become Salt Lake's finest craftsmen. In 1996, Glen Platts retired and handed the business over to his sons, Dan (who worked alongside his family since the beginning in 1966) and his youngest son, Scott.

I highly recommend The Seat Cover Company! They were straightforward, knowledgeable, and friendly over the phone, scheduled me in quickly and did an absolutely amazing job. The driver’s seat bottom had cracked open on the seam and the surrounding leather was badly worn on my 2004 VW Passat Wagon. The rest of the car and upholstery still looked great, so I thought I would take a chance. The color and material match was perfect—magic really—it looked like back when the car was a youngster from the factory. I don’t normally add reviews but I think this will help others make an informed decision. I took my Honda Accord to have the cloth interior replaced with leather. I’ve done this with two other cars but this is the first time I have used the Seat Cover Company. The other company replaced all the cloth in the car with leather including putting leather in the doors so I was expecting the same thing with the Seat Cover Company. I was sorely disappointed when I got my car back from the Seat Cover company but they didn’t touch the doors. It really bothers me. It looks strange and there isn’t

My wife and I didn't know the Seat Cover Co. from Adam when we first started looking for an upholstery co. to fix the torn upholstery on our Acura's driver seat. We chose them because of their high customer rating on google. We were not disappointed in the quality of the job they did, the price they charged for their work or their customer service skills. We'd feel confident in recommending them to any of our friends or family members.

I took my truck in to The Seat Cover Company to repair a (factory) leather seat which was separating at the seam. The Seat Cover Company advised replacing the leather panel with vinyl because they could match the color easier and said it would hold up just as well. When I picked up my truck, I asked about their warranty and was given a verbal "we don't have a specific time, but we'll take care of you within reason." I was concerned that I just made a mistake, but they sounded sincere and confident in the repair.

On November 20, 2017, I left my Ford Eddie Bauer Explorer with them to have the headliner replaced. I fully expected a good job to be done and at a reasonable price.
When I picked my car up the following day, a Good Job is not an adequate description of the job. The only word that describes the job they did is : PERFECTION.

I've used these guys many times from seat repair on cars to custom motorcycle seats and stitching. They offer amazing quality and great service. Staff is always friendly and they go above and beyond to make sure you will be 100% happy. They have prices that can't be beat for the quality and it's worth every penny. And even if you don't plan on getting any custom seat or leather work done, go visit the shop to see the cool classic cars they are working on!!!
