Salon Venustas vows to be more than a hair salon; it's a legacy. Salon Venustas (originally known as Hair Concepts) was opened by Bea and Carl DiGirolamo in 1961. Carl's father, Joseph DiGirolamo, owned the reputable salon, Jo-Ed's Salon, in downtown of New Haven in 1941. Joseph was filled with pride through years of business and encouraged his son and his wife to open a salon of their own.
Salon Venustas is the kind of place where everybody's family-whether they're the guests sitting in our chairs, the smiling faces who greet people when they come in, or the stylists. It is here that people feel pampered, and you can rest assured that we do our very best to make every person's visit as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

We recommend that you book your next appointment prior to leaving the salon so that we can be sure to accommodate your schedule. To secure an appointment of 2 hours or more we require a credit card on file while booking an appointment.
We are a vibrant, active salon seeking a full time stylist to our team. You will be an integral part of our team, as we strive to exceed our customers' expectations. We provide our guests with a professional experience throughout their visit. We are committed to the Goldwell brand and work closely with them to further our technical training.

I would give Salon Venustas and Julia more than 5 stars! I recently moved to CT and needed to find a salon. I decided to try SV because they use Goldwell color, and I selected Julia because of her bio and some of her specialties. I can only say that they exceeded my expectations. I came in for a consult only and felt like Julia understood my hair, and I liked her approach, so decided to make an appointment. Julia squeezed me in right then--which was great because I was really overdue. SV is a really nice salon--spacious, very clean, great vibe, and everyone is friendly. But Julia... She is amazing

This is a quite, professional salon that is immaculate! I love that I can book an appointment online and see all my options before choosing the right time for me. Lindsey was friendly but didn't chat the entire time which allowed me to relax. Perfect! Love my cut-will be back for sure.

Absolutely thrilled with my experience at Salon Venustas. I am a New Yorker quarantined at my weekend house in Madison, homesick for my city lifestyle and high-end professionals. However, I've found my special hair stylist: Alicia! Alicia's talent and skill exceeded my expectations. I so appreciate the time and effort she spent to understand what I wanted and what would work with my hair. I was very unhappy with my last cut at another over-hyped, local salon and am so happy I've found Alicia and Salon Venustas. Highly recommend. And, BTW, their COVID precautions were outstanding

This was my first time here. Everything felt very safe and clean. Jake was very helpful and sweet. I alerted him when I arrived and he called me when it was time to come in. Karen gave me a great haircut. She also gave me great advice about color. Didn't feel pressured to buy products. Friendly environment. Will be back soon.

I come from a family of hairstlists. My mom owned her own salon for 30 years, so I grew up surround by hairstylists, and the industry. When I say Alicia and her team are fantasitic, I mean it! Alicia recently cut my hair from shoulder length to tapered back and over my ears. SHORT! She did an amazing job and there isn't a day that goes by, that I don't hear a complement. Including from my mom! I am thrilled! Thank you Salon Venustas and most importantly Alicia Mirando!

If you're head is too far up your bottom to care about anybody or anything else besides yourself this might be the right atmosphere for you. Wasted an entire day of my life to basically get my hair so messed up, I have to now pay more money to get it fixed so I don't feel embarrassed to leave the house. For a place so stuck up and sophisticated, I don't get how they let such bad hairstylists work there. Walked out with a headache from listening to elderly rich people complain and talk in a way I thought only existed on tv. I get it, the location calls for snobs but with such a fancy
