Lee Stephens started his tax preparation business in 1983 when his son, Justin, was just two years old. His first office was on 4th street in downtown Santa Rosa, where he prepared taxes by hand and on those old green screen Apple computers.
He was one of the first tax preparers in Sonoma County to offer his clients the ability to E-file their returns (he even had an article in the Press Democrat about it)! Lee ran the company until he passed away in 2015 after a 7-year battle with cancer.Born and raised in Santa Rosa by two tax preparers, Justin Stephens has been surrounded by the tax business his entire life.

Good price, great service, incredible results. I gave Stephens' the same material I gave H&R Block last year, and not only did they get me a massive refund (as opposed to the taxes I ended up owing last year, because H&R Block somehow didn't know how to work with my very basic portfolio), but they did it for less than I paid to owe money last year. Definitely give these guys a try.

We have come to rely on Stephens Tax Services not just to complete her tax forms for us, but for advice throughout the year. In addition to completing and filing our taxes promptly, Justin is available throughout the year for advice on things like how many exemptions to take on our W-4 and the tax implications of choosing a sole proprietorship vs. an S corporation. He and his staff are always friendly, helpful, and prompt.
