They will only help you if you are suicidal or self-harm.My child was on the verge of a mental breakdown and I called them and explained exactly what was going on, I was told there would be three options. I put my last 20.00.in gas drove 40 minutes. I did about a hour of paperwork after waiting we talked to someone and then was told they only do the programs offered if they are suicidal or self harm. That should have been told when we called!!!!! My child had a previous bad experience and was afraid to get help. Now she feels completely hopeless. Silver cross you need to do better help fix the

Do not go here if you are seeking genuine care. They will compound your problems and call DCFS on you. Front desk workers were pleasant. However, The other two staff members were a nightmare; cold and fake. They told me over the phone they could help, when I arrived they had no beds and wanted to place my child in an undisclosed location. I declined that option and they called DCFS for medical neglect.

Nothing good about this facility. Very poor communication between staff and parents. No visitation is allowed and minimal time is given to patients to talk to family. Virtual time was limited and was often prohibited for no reason at all. Upon our decision Thursday to bring our son home we were not allowed because they said we had to give 48 hour notice and they wouldn't discharge on the weekend. He was forced to stay until Monday in a COVID positive infected environment. Upon insurance review the stay was deemed medically unnecessary due to his compliance and will not be covered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This facility has never heard of NEA.BPD which is made up of the three largest mental health care clinics in the nation. Mayo Clinic and McLean Clinic Menninger Clinic are part of NEA.BPD. Do not take any family member to any facility in Illinois that does not recognize NEA.BPD.
If they don’t know who NEA.BPD is run! No one in Grundy or Will county are recommended.
McLean Clinic trains Northwestern!!

I was very skeptical of my daughter staying in patient . I was worried about how she would be treated and if it would help her at all.
As a mental health therapist, I am aware that these experiences are not always positive. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff at Silver Oaks Hospital were very caring and understanding. My daughter reported having a very good experience . The communication with the staff was excellent. My daughter learned good coping skills. I would highly recommend a Silver Oaks Behavioral Center.

I was recently released from inpatient at another mental health facility and was looking for outpatient to help me transition. I waited three hours to get an assessment. When I finally got to a clinician, she talked to me about my history for all of five minutes only to tell me I didn't have a choice of which outpatient program I would go into. She told me I could only come if I agreed to the partial hospitalization for 2 weeks, then 4-6 weeks of intensive outpatient. I was adamant that because of my work schedule there is no way I can attend the partial hospitalization. She wouldn't budge and

If I could give negative stars, I would. The therapy director is one of the absolute worst. She has no interest in actually helping people, for whatever convenient bureaucratic reason suits her fancy for the day. Mental Health Services are supposedly designed to hold space and offer healing for people who experience mental illness, but as soon as they begin showing symptoms of said illness, she gives them the chopping block. Completely intolerant and inhumane to people genuinely putting themselves out there and seeking help. What are they supposed to do after being discharged with nowhere else

I was admitted back in April and I found the Tec's to be amazing. They were kind and compassionate to me and some of my peers during our stay. One in particular taught us magic tricks. Another Comforted me when certain medical events happened within the facility. We would make songs and laugh together. Without them and certain people there I don't think I could have made it through this time. Besides that some of the nurses were unhelpful but mostly kind. I am extremely thankful for this place for pushing closer to people I never knew I needed and teaching me certain tricks I teach to this day
