We moved to Indiana from California and didn't have any idea who to use for our home inspection. I called three places and knew right away just from talking to Joe Douglas on the phone that he was the person to go with. He was honest, kind and helpful. With us having to close fast on the house he worked it out to come out on a Saturday.
All reports are computer generated with plenty of detail and color photographs. Major findings/defects are highlighted in red print with a summary of such findings at the end of the report. I use a narrative style of report that conveys far more information than a checklist report that many other home inspectors use.

Joe at Keystone Home Inspections is my first call anytime I have a client in need of an inspection. I have worked with numerous companies and I do not find them to be as reliable as Joe. He is thorough and knowledgeable! One of the best things honestly, is that he does not sound off unnecessary alarms. He simply states the facts and codes etc. Inspectors are paid to find SOMETHING wrong always, but some make things worse then needed. He is usually always busy but he is worth the wait!

We've used Joe twice in our home-buying attempts this summer. The first time, Joe discovered an electrical issue that led us to dig deeper and saved us from buying a home with significant unpermitted improvements. We knew exactly who to get for the second inspection!

As first-time home buyers who chose a house that needs work, I can't stress enough how helpful it was to have an inspector who was able and willing to walk us through every last detail of what was going on in our new home. Joe was great to work with. We were able to schedule our inspection quickly and during the inspection he walked us through the house and pointed out things that would need our attention. He was very professional and did a great job explaining everything to us since this was the first inspection we've had done. He wrote a very detailed report that included lots of photos and helpful information. He also got it to us the same day which was very appreciated!

Due to an error made by the homeowner, Joe was unable to actually perform a home inspection for me. However, Joe was extremely professional and easy to talk to about the situation. I could tell by talking with him that he would have been a great inspector. Joe even refunded a majority of the funds paid to him.
Although I didn’t get an actual inspection, based off of Joe’s professionalism, I would highly recommend at least contacting him and talking to him about performing your inspection. I really feel like I missed out due to the homeowner’s mistake.

This was my first home inspection and I didn't know what to expect. Joe did an excellent job! He was very professional and thorough with his inspection. He was also pleasant to work with and answered all of my questions. I wasn't able to be there for the entire inspection, but when I got there toward the end, he did a great job pointing out things he had noticed. When I saw the report, there were no surprises because we had already discussed those things. Joe is a very knowledgeable guy and I highly recommend him.

This was my first home inspection, but I think Joe was very thorough! He answered all of my questions as we went along, including showing me how to operate the gas log fireplace since I've never had experience with one. Plus he was polite and pleasant to talk to. He knew I was on a tight deadline, so he got the report to me quickly. The report is also thorough, going room by room with a lot of the pictures he took included. It didn't include any surprises since he answered everything on-site, but if you can't be present the report you get from him will likely have everything you need.

Keystone Home Inspections provided us with a great home inspection. Joe worked in a very professional manner and inspected the entire house from top to bottom. He was punctual and spent a lot of time with us making sure that everything was looked at. He delivered our report the next day and it was very professional and well laid out. Everything that was done was explained and the areas of deficiency were highlighted in red. Great guy who offered a great service at a fair price.

Everything went well! Joe is a very knowledgeable person. He inspects every single detail of the house and give you an explanation on how things should work or how to make sure they will last longer. He climbs onto the roof, he gets to crawl spaces, never complains and always smiling. He repects the privacy of the house and makes sure he leaves everything as he finds it. I have no complains, he did an excellent job. The professionalism you need for this type of work you will find it in Joe.
