I owe a tremendous debt to the colleague whose simple advice was "Call Philip Allen at Pro Travel.".
I can't even begin to quantify the value of the time saved by having Phil do the heavy lifting on airfares and lodging. I can, however, quantify the $$ savings that have resulted from his extensive knowledge of additional (and top notch) carriers on international routes.
If you value your time, and appreciate "old-fashioned" customer service (e.g., prompt callbacks, extensive product knowledge) , fade the herd and retain a professional who knows the "ins and outs

I innocently emailed Amy at Protravel asking for her help in booking a trip. Her email reply was super curt and supremely unhelpful. Further, she seemed to have zero desire for my business in the future. I'd avoid this place. I guess this is why everyone books online, to avoid this kind of snotty attitude.

Pro Travel handles all my business flights and they constantly remind me why internet service is never enough. Business travel requires reliability and, as times, rescuing. These guys come through every time. Two key points:
First, they try like crazy to find lowest fares. When I first started using Pro Travel I figured I would check their offerings vs. Expedia and, guess what: Pro Travel could win.
Secondly, I love the security of a person who can help in a crisis like a canceled flight that messes up a connection. Pro Travel moves quickly, finds an alternative and helps me get around the problem

Priscilla Alexander and Tony Shepherd are the owners of ProTravel and my family and I had been loyal clients for many years. After showing up at the airport with confirmation numbers but no ticket numbers, we incurred a large expense by having to purchase tickets right there and then to visit our family across the country for the holidays. After months of contacting Tony Shepherd, we finally contacted Priscilla and threatened to sue, so Pro Travel reimbursed us for every penny. Tony was doing everything in his power not to reimburse us, but Priscilla did the right thing. That was years ago
