I came here twice during the pandemic and love the services I've received so far! I asked for a simple cut with layers and was satisfied with both outcomes. They dry and style it at the end and I left with shiny, smooth locks. My hair is very thick and heavy but it definitely turned out weightless! I'll be coming back for my next cut soon.

It took me a while to finally find a salon I liked after moving to the Bay Area but I've been going back to Jackie consistently now and will continue to do so! She is always friendly, careful and takes the time to get the cut right. Even though my cut is relatively simple, she never rushes any part of the process. During COVID, I was apprehensive about getting a cut but I felt she took all the necessary precautions and I felt safe. Highly recommend!

Jackie is the best. I have been going to her for about 15 years, and got my hair trimmed and did the japanese straightening this past weekend. It was 4 hours of hard work on Jackie's part, but my hair comes out amazing (as always). She is such a perfectionist. All covid procedures are followed, and it's a huge salon with 20 feet ceiling, and I was the only customer. The salon can easily have 2 other stations working we would still be so far spread out. The prices are very reasonable, especially in light of her skills and service.

I've been going to Jackie at Aruba for at least 6 years. I started when I lived around the corner and kept going back even after I moved to Redwood City 4 years ago. My hair is difficult to cut and I never style it, so I need a good wash and wear cut. She's been great, working with my hair and willing to try new styles that will grow out well. (Did I mention I also don't get it cut often enough?) In fact, the cut she gave me back in January lasted me through the SIP and still looks great.

Still going here, one year later! Always easy to make appointments, and even though there's a steady stream of customers, it's quiet inside. I highly recommend Mindy, she always leaves me feeling like a million bucks after getting my hair done. Beyond pleased with the results every time and I get a ton of compliments.

I almost walked in for the haircut (called them 20 mins before) and they had a slot which already impressed me. I was tired of taking appointments and waiting weeks for them to arrive. I got my haircut from Barbara. She gave me one of the best haircut I ever got. I had long, thin and boring hair and was looking to add some style and volume to it. She got exactly the way I wanted - cool, bouncy and not thin! Great thing about this was, I could get it without using sprays, which are annoying and the high end salons always use them (and recommend them) on my hair to get the style. I will definitely

Got my first hair cut from here few months ago. It's a long overdue review. Mindy cut my hair and told me a terrible lie. She told me there was no credit card machine and I thought it was odd since a cut and hair color would be in the hundreds and they couldn't possibly expect people to bring all cash for that. I figured since my cut was just $55-75, it was no big deal to pay cash since I live nearby and BOA was down the street. I found out after my cut and paying that there was a credit card machine which another hair dresser used to charge for another patron who also had the cut while

Recently moved to this area and had my first hair cut at Aruba last week. I was a bit apprehensive at first and wasn't sure if the haircut I ended up with really looked good at me. But a day later, I love it!
Jackie was very attentive, gave me time, did not rush my hair cut and did a fabulous job! She came recommend to me and I have been recommending her to others.

I hired Jackie to do my wedding hair and I'm glad I did! Her prices are extremely reasonable when compared to the outrageous prices that independent hairstylists/ freelancers charge just because the word "wedding" is attached to "updo".
We scheduled a hair trial about two weeks before and sampled two different hairstyles. I simply showed her a picture and she was able to replicate the style I was going for!
On the day of, she accommodated me earlier than the salon opened. She meticulously created my updo and was very careful about securing it. The end result was

I have been going to Sunshine for years now. Why I haven't wrote a review before is beyond me. She has cut my hair each time perfectly, suggested changes and styles. Jackie did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was FLAWLESS. My local salon recommended her when they could not help me for my wedding day (I did two ceremonies, in case you see another hair review with someone else!). While I did do a paid hair style trial, she did not require a makeup trial, which saved me money. The hair style (and trial) and makeup was by far the cheapest I found in the area.
I have a difficult skin tone to match, and she did my foundation better than anyone else ever has in my life. The natural lighting was great for that, but Jackie is amazing herself. It was great

I've been going to Jackie for years and she's great! Jackie did the hair and makeup for my wedding, and the results were amazing - not only did the hair & make up lasted all night, but I still looked like ME (not me covered in makeup)! I go to Aruba regularly for eyebrow waxes and trims and have been very satisfied with the results. Jackie, Leslie, and the other ladies are all friendly, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend this place.
