The nurses MariLuz and Jack wrote an outstanding care plan for my mother who has dementia. It was a care plan which represented exactly what my mother needs. It is critical, however, to insist on finding a caregiver that has good communication skills. Not every aide is prepared to communicate effectively with a patient who exhibits the anxiety and confusion that come with dementia. If you aren't satisfied with the caregiver-patient relationship, don't wait very long to see if things will improve. When you decide that it's not a good fit, tell the agency immediately. Try another aide. Keep trying
