Our winery concept came from the musings of a small group of close-knit family members and friends while sitting on Winery President Joe McCall's front porch in nearby Silver Spring. Our official business license still bears the name Front Porch Micro Winery, LLC. We hope that when you hear the name Olney you will think about our wines, not just the wonderful town.
Olney Winery employs the unique business model of sourcing our grape product from suppliers and vineyards all over the world to ferment over 34 different varietals of award-winning wines locally. We bring the world of wine to Maryland. All of our popular fruit infused wines, as well as our Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc are made from high quality California grapes.
Our wine making team has earned over 50 international and local awards for our wines in the almost 10 years we have been in operation. Chris Lanning was introduced to the world of wine while studying for his undergrad at Walla Walla in Washington state. Through a part-time job while in school, he met numerous winemakers and discovered, not only his love for wine but also, the winemaking process.

If you like sweet wine, this is your place. If your palate is a little more developed, it has limited selections in the dry and tart areas. We tasted several wine, purchased quite a few. We probably would have purchased more if the tasting staff had been in less of a rush. One staff member took my husband's glass before he'd finished tasting, then when she realized her mistake she said, " Oh! You haven't finished. Here." She was offering him the mixture of his current tasting wine and the next one she had cured to clear the glass. Gross.

Went with a friend for a free flight on a Friday afternoon. My first time there and I really enjoyed it. Nice, knowledgeable server. Left with some 14% alcohol sweet wine. I like sweet wines. Want to go back for their make you own wine activity and, of course, more wine tasting.

Sooo "winery" idk, but it is a cool destination to go and try some wine. I am into the traditional wines, and I tried those. They were pretty good, I liked the pinot noir best. I don't like any fruit wines typically so I didn't bother to taste any. They do offer a large selection of those. They also do a wine making party where you can blend your own wine and they will ferment it and you can pick it up like 6 weeks later. It comes out to be about 25 bottles or something and they can help you create your own custom label. I thought that was a fun idea. Charcuterie board was tasty

I can't say enough good things about this winery! My fiance and I have been coming here for almost 2 years and have never had a bottle of wine we didn't, at the very least, like... most we love! We are members of the 1800 wine club and find it such a treat. It's always been a great date night option. Love Olney Winery and its community.

It's been over 7 years since I've visited the Olney Winery located in the Fair Hill shopping center in Olney, MD. When we arrived, we told Lisa that we had a reservation for wine tasting. She said we could sit anywhere. We presented a Groupon and she told us that they were out of take-home wine glasses and we had the option of an IOU or an extra tasting. Since we chose the latter, we were able to select 7 tastings from their wine tasting menu of red wines, blush wines, white wines, fruit-infused wines, dessert wines, and limited edition white wine, blush wine, red wine, and sweet wine

My fiancé took me to a wine tasting, for one of my birthday outings and I really enjoyed myself. The winery was located inside of a shopping center, but the inside was very colorful, bright and vibrant. Our bartender that hosted the tasting was nice, albeit a little quiet. Whenever we asked her questions she gave us our answers but she didn't go out of her way. All in all, it was a nice experience.

Checked out Olmert today after my wife found a Groupon... a nice place to stop in, if you’re in the area or hitting the shops.
The staff were very pleasant and the atmosphere was nice (inside w size limited to 12 max).
They had ALOT of wines - maybe 25 or 30? Everything from traditional reds and whites to fruit wines and dessert wines. They buy their grapes from other regions and make their own wine.
Worth a stop, especially if you like sweet fruit wines.

This was my first time here and fruit wines are now my favorite! The wines I tried were the Citrus fruit wine (my favorite), Cherry Fruit wine, White Zinfandel, Ice wine (too sweet for my taste), abd the chocolate one (19% abv!). The ambiance was great with live music. They followed COVID guidelines by allowing only a max if 14 people inside but also has tent seating outside. I will be back. By the way, they honor groupon which is great!

The wine here is great if you love sweet or fruit wines. During COVID they are having outside tastings in the parking lot.
If you are looking to enjoy scenery, this is not the place. It is located in a shopping center.
The staff was awesome, very friendly and accommodating with our MD wine pass.
They also allow outside food so we brought you typical wine pairing foods.
I think the best time to go is when they first open so their is seating available.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time. This winery is located in center of Town center shopping center. It is cute and low key, however there was no actual vineyard. The ambiance in the winery was nice, there was good social distance practicing and no wait. They also have tables separate from the bars that sit off by themselves for more privacy. We purchased a Groupon which offered 5 tastings a take home souvenir glass and $10 off a purchase. The selections we picked were really good and our server even suggested some great ones. The Raspberry Chocolate Dessert wine was absolutely delicious,

The Olney Winery is one of my favorite local staples. The staff is always welcoming and the wine is delicious. They offer various flavors according to your taste. I love that the Olney Winery provides specialty wines for members monthly. They deliver right to your door or a safe pick up option. I’d highly recommend for great wine and to support a wonderful local business. The prices are very reasonable and if you are a wine drinker you have the option to join the wine club.

If you're thinking of hosting a party or event, definitely look here! This place is great. We hosted a party here in January- we made our own wine and wine label, and then bottled it at the party. We reserved the back half of the space, and they also let us bring our own food and decorations in for the space- there were even outlets for us to plug in a few crockpots. There is live music on weekends, and the band was great and even dedicated a song to us! The servers/staff were friendly and really helped us run the event well and manage wine orders. Overall, two thumbs up- it was a great experience

This was my first time here and I loved it. The ambience was cozy and very welcoming. It had some what of a Christmas vibe. The decor was very simple but still had an elegant aura. The music was set at the perfect tone and was very pleasant.
They had a variety of wine flavors. & they had some amazing flavors. & The service pretty good. The food selection isn't the best but it's mainly for pairing. Which is still fun to try with your wine.
& There are restaurant around if you get too hungry.

This place has a great atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and explained how the place worked. The wine however was not good. They get imported "grape product" which should have been the first sign the wine was not going to be great. Had a small tasting of the 'Malbec' which is called the Incan Roja. Tasting was ok and we purchased the bottle, but once we opened the bottle and let it breathe, all we could taste were fake chemicals. My husband said it tasted like lipstick, I said it tasted like perfume. Whatever it was, there was a lot more in the wine than just grapes and natural vanilla/spices
