Mafra is well known for his achievements as a competitor on the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) circuit, with medals at the Brazilian, Pan, World NoGi and World Masters Championships.

Not all gyms are created equal. Learning from Marcelo and his team has been an incredible experience. My two boys (4 and 7 years old) have been going to this gym since February (6 months). The environment is friendly, respectful, encouraging and empowering. You'll see all kinds of kids, different ages, shapes and sizes, all working hard to get better at their BJJ and lives. Awesome environment, very friendly, world class teaching. Both of my sons and I train here and it's been nothing but positive for 2 1/2 years. Marcelo Mafra is the real deal black belt BJJ world champ! A very humble guy and we are blessed to be under his instruction, as well as his team of instructors. Not only is Marcelo an amazing professor who helps you reach your goals whatever they are, but his goals and methodologies are aligned with what you'd want instilled in your children. This is not only a great place to train in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu but the only place you will get traditional Brazilian Jiu-jitsu taught by a multiple time Worlds and Pan American champion.
