I have had one hip resurfaced and the other completely replaced. Since my surgery, over the years, my pelvic floor had deteriorated a bit which also cause my shoulders to tighten. I felt very immobile. I went to Dr. Mayer and within 3-4 visits I move freely. I listened to his explanations of diaphragmatic breathing and how the exercises play a role in properly re-aligning everything. I like it and it makes total sense to me. I do believe you have to have body awareness and I believe you have to have some self-accountability. I have read some of these reviews and witnessed people come in who have

I love this place. I went in because I have chronic low back pain and has always been extremely painful. Dr. Mason was great! He did some x rays and an exam and a free follow up. He discussed a treatment plan with me including exercises for at home that will help ease the pain long term.
Their office is laid back and he takes the time needed to discuss your issues.
Definitely would recommend! I've been going to Dr. Mason for 5 years for various issues and I recommend him to everyone. I won't go anywhere else.

Dr. Mayer is amazing doctor who is rare to be found. I had a back pain and have seen a number of chiropractors and physical therapists and he is the only one who truly helped my situation. Unlike many doctors who just use standard procedures without spending time assessing your unique situation, Dr. Mayer would spend a lot of time watching your movements and postures and provided custom treatments based on your root cause of your problem. I highly recommend Dr. Mayer if you are looking for a great chiropractor to treat your chronic pains

I have been to many physical therapists for a host of issues, but Dr. Mayer was the first one to see that they were all connected. He has taught me to use and understand my body in a completely new way, and a way that works with my lifestyle. It's not just about learning a set of exercises'; it's about gaining awareness that allows us to heal ourselves. He really takes his time to understand each client, and I really appreciated that. I would highly recommend Dr. Mayer for any physical therapy.

I took advantage of Capitol Rehab's free Functional Evaluation after my doctor recommended physical therapy for recurring back pain. Dr. Mayer seemed hopeful so I went back for more treatments. The style of manipulation is almost Reiki-like / energy work / laying on of hands. I just don't get it. At the very least I didn't leave feeling any worse. His conversational style of staring at the ceiling is unnerving and his "my way or the highway" approach is insulting.

I found Dr. Mayer by following a massage therapist I trusted. The masseur convinced me to have an evaluation. Dr. Mayer managed first to train me to relieve lower back pain and sciatica that I've had since a 1984 car accident. His training is so thorough and competent that when I 'threw my back out' in Germany, he got me travelling again via phone!
Now I have MS; he and the staff keep me mobile and functional. Few people realize that I have MS and my neurologist is amazed by my improvement.
Dr. Mayer really understands neuromuscular functioning and therapies.

I would highly recommend Dr. Mayer to anyone suffering with chronic pain!
My story: I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 12 and I was placed in a back brace at age 15 to keep my curvature from getting worse. After wearing the back brace for my designated year, I continued to suffer with back/neck pain. I went to a chiropractor regularly and I even tried yoga therapy, but my pain was never relieved for very long.
I moved to Richmond and a friend recommended Capitol Rehab. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Mayer! My pain has decreased dramatically since I started seeing Dr. Mayer about 2 years

I have been working with Dr. Mayer since February 2013. Today, I am able to balance on one foot. Big deal? Absolutely. I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS). My balance is compromised and lower back pain was an issue as my body was over compensating for my unsteady gait. Dr. Mayer has changed my outlook and taught my body the skills to fight disability. By strengthening my diaphragm and with his knowledge of reflexology, my brain has learned to carry my body differently. Dr. Mayer, Mr. K, India and Kerstin have displayed a genuine interest in my well being which can never be repaid. My Neurologist is

I had knee surgery a year ago and went through 3-4 months of physical therapy but was still not able to climb stairs or resume pre-surgery activities at an appropriate level. I was feeling like I would never get my functionality back when my other knee began to show signs of needing surgery. I met Dr Mayer. He and his office changed my whole life. In a few weeks I was pain free and my range of motion returned. I am now close to being back to the way I was before I had surgery maybe even better and I owe it all to Capital Rehab. Their program has changed my life!!

Dr. L. Mayer changed my life after the first visit. I discovered his practice and benefits of DNS by chance. I am so grateful of this discovery because Dr. Mayer is able to facilitate my recovery from a misdiagnosed stroke that went unrecognized for 2.5 years. Not only did he treat the stroke symptoms via DNS, his program addresses the underlying cause and the by-product depression due to the physical impairments inherited from the stroke. After firing two PCPs, three neurologists, one neuro-opthamologist, one ENT physician, Dr. Mayer replaced each one of them with his precision, scientific application
