We develop our students' respect for themselves and others as they learn cooperation and teamwork skills. Life skills are the heart of our Grasshoppers Program. Highly energetic and customized to the developmental needs of our 3- and 4-year-old crowd, classes are paced to maximize engagement and fun for our youngest population.
Our Fundamentals Program for children aged 5 to 12 is where most of our students begin their training. We emphasize life skills like focus, confidence, and self-discipline to help students meet their full potential in all aspects of their life. We offer an outstanding martial arts program for teens and adults.

Whatever the age of your child, there is something for everyone at Apex Taekwondo Center. Our classes offer a high-energy outlet through games and activities, all while teaching important life-skills. They will learn the art of Taekwondo, confidence, and perseverance as they face daily challenges. Your child will develop courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and an indomitable spirit that they can apply throughout their life.
At Apex Taekwondo, our goal is to teach life-skills. We offer a range of classes tailored to any age group, with an emphasis on reaching younger children. Our goal is to offer children the opportunity to stay active, alert, and engaged in their growth and education. We believe learning should be fun, and use Taekwondo as a vehicle for training the whole person.
Life skills are the heart of our Grasshoppers Program. Each month we focus (in kid-friendly language) on a specific life skill, such as self-control, integrity, or perseverance, so our students thrive at home and as they enter school. Highly energetic and customized to the developmental needs of our 3- and 4-year-old crowd, classes are paced to maximize engagement and fun for our youngest population.
Our Fundamentals Program for children aged 5 to 12 is where most of our students begin their training. Students learn practical self-defense and fitness, of course, but our program goes much further. We emphasize life skills like focus, confidence, and self-discipline to help students meet their full potential in all aspects of their life-to be cooperative and respectful at home, successful in school, and self-assured with their peers.
We also offer an outstanding martial arts program for teens and adults. In this program our students learn practical skills while reducing stress, getting a great workout, and developing self-confidence. Our program includes weapons techniques, high-level self-defense, and fitness. Students in this program develop physical energy, mental clarity, and emotional calm.

Apex has been wonderful to our family. I have 2 kids that are currently taking classes. Each month they focus on a life lesson and how that applies to life outside of class and tae kwon do. Our kids have increased their confidence and their manners have improved. They are learning some phrases in Korean, which is a nice bonus. Their technical skills appear to be improving (I'm not expert on that). Their balance and control over their bodies is definitely improving. We really love Apex and Master Stephen.

-Positive and motivating.
Master Stephen reinforces the 5 Tenets of Taekwondo and focuses on building a "can-do" attitude with each student.
-Structure, with variety.
Master Stephen uses repetition for building muscle-memory and reinforcing forms or techniques, but also throws in fun activities that break up the classes and keep everything moving.
-Group and Partner exercises/drills.
Master Stephen knows that students working together helps them learn and grow in his classes, but also prepares students for life/work outside of class.
-Student expectations:
Master Stephen learns/knows his

Our children have learned so much in such a short amount of time. They are always excited about attending class! Master Stephen is a great teacher, and he helps the kids understand how to apply Taekwondo skills in everyday life. They are excited about doing chores now! This has been one activity that we are truly grateful for during a crazy pandemic!

I've been to my share of martial arts studios in my years and this is the one I will continue my TKD journey with! Master Stephen takes time to ensure that his students (both young and young at heart) are improving each and every session. Coupling martial arts instruction with life skills and affirmation of students achievements is a fantastic way to keep students engaged and growing. I cannot think of any other place I would want to take my family and friends to study and grow!

Owner is a fantastic, people-oriented person who gives the personal touch to teaching Taekwondo. They don't do the high pressure sales or long term lock-ins that other local programs do, but rather focuses on making a great learning experience so that you or your kid(s) will want to keep coming back.
