The best measure of a hospitality business are the guests. Over 50 percent of our guests in the last five years were either repeats, or referred by former guests. After twenty four years offering custom cruises in Alaska, having shared our experience with over 1,000 guests, it is likely we can provide you with a reference from near your home town.
Enjoy this sampling of what our previous guests have had to say about their experiences aboard the Alaskan Song, or our previous boat, Explorer. Captain Richard Friedman first came to Alaska in the summer of 1972 and has spent 26 summers in Alaska. Richard and Nancy were Captain and Chef on their first charter in 1984.

Services
If you want to experience Alaska in all its glory the Alaskan Song Yacht Charters has the ultimate packages available for you. We offer a premier Alaska small boat cruise that is sure to be a memorable adventure. Photos and videos don't compare to getting up close in real life. Our Alaska small ship cruise offers you the opportunity to see Alaska in all its beauty including: guided nature hikes, sea kayaking and more.
All meals are made from scratch with a focus on using organic and PNW sourced ingredients and include seafood we catch on charter. The menu for each group is planned after gathering information about the tastes, preferences, and special needs of each guest in the charter group. The menu can and does change during the charter depending on availability of ingredients and whatever is the fresh catch of the day.
That is what an Alaska cruise on a small ship can offer. Unlike larger vessels, our yacht cruise ship can get into the smaller bays and areas that offer an intimate close up look at glaciers and wildlife. As a private group, you may be able to spend more time in a particularly idyllic spot that others would miss because there just wasn't time to linger or get close enough.
Ones life is made up of a series of passages most are enjoyed, some not so. Our voyage on the Alaskan Song ranks at the very top of a rather long life of experiences and will live as a highlight of my life. We all had such grand expectations for this trip. I think I can speak for all in saying that those expectations were well surpassed.
There are five different species of salmon that return to the waters of Southeast Alaska each year. May and June are the best months for hooking a King salmon, while July through September are best for Coho or Silver salmon. There are also several species of both sea run and freshwater trout living in Southeast Alaska's abundant waters.
