This is a very nice and unique motel I ever staid, it has very nice and big pond with nice little ducks inside the pond. I was with my family, and my family loved the location of the motel, and my kids had lots of fun playing with ducks. They have this nice chair outside the each rooms, where you can have good time with the family and looked the view of the pond.

The worst customers I've ever experienced at any motel/hotel. My husband paid cash for us to stay at this hotel for 2 nights. This morning my husband left the hotel to go hunting, while he was away I decided to walk across the street to purchase a few things. When I returned to our room my room key didn't work. I informed the owner/woman at the front desk. She said "Yes I know, you need to tell the person who I gave the key to, to come get the key and then I will re-activate it". I informed her that my husband paid cash for the room.
She told me she didn't care that I

I called one week before my tripthe lady told me $78 per night then told me that I could not put a reserve in that far in advance 1 week? So I waited 5 days called back she tried to Jack the room up to $99 per night. I then started looking around finding out that the reviews are not that good so we ended up settling on a place and Warsaw just down the road about 3 miles Continental breakfast included. This place doesn't have any kind of breakfast offering

No wheel chair rooms with roll n shower. This violates the ADA.A lawsuit could be filed. Otherwise they have done a great job remodeling the old Washington and Lee. Please make one room wheelchair accessible with a roll n shower. Then we will put you on one of the best motels in Westmoreland county

Called to book a room and the lady who answered was rude. Wouldn't even talk to me about what they had open. Told me to call right before we arrive. After a 9+ hour drive I do not want to be looking for a room with no guarantee of finding one on a holiday weekend. Save your time book elsewhere if that rude on the phone to a customer not gonna be good at in person customer service.

The place is a flea bag motel. Went to take a shower and the handle pulled right off. Tried using the in room phone, but it's just a prop, no dial tone. All in all, I would not recommend this place. They should've offered a refund or something. Staying in a place where you can't shower is unacceptable and all thr lady said was "I'm sorry". Grrrrr

Great little family ran motel. I work here in the northern neck quite often and find this place a great little place to call home away from home. I've had to check in late several times and they've been very accommodating. The price is very reasonable, the rooms are always nice and clean. The beds are very comfortable. Haven't had a bad experience yet. There's not a bunch to choose from here in montross but I'm certainly glad I stumbled upon this place. Trailer parking available as well. Easy on and off the highway.

Gross little place. Dated rooms, yucky bathrooms, definitely makes you feel itchy getting in bed. Unfortunately there are no other hotels in the area.

I needed a place to take a shower and sleep while finishing my contract job in this small town. I gave this motel a shot, and glad I did.
7 days (weekly rate), I stayed in room 114. Clean and no bugs or roaches (I kept starring at the corners and walls) . I don’t want to talk about the nice and friendly owner, To me I care about the cleanliness. I usually pay double and triple the price that I paid for room 114, and get the same quality.
One comment, the bathroom has a window that is covered with a see through curtain!
All the time I had to take a shower in the dark! Getting some light from

This is a great historic hotel. If you appreciate the small town area then this hotel is for you. Our family comes every year and stays here. The rooms have been renovated over the years and just keep getting better and better. The manager and staff have always been accommodating and pleasant. Of course I have always been polite myself, which is important too

Not too many choices in the area, so this hotel is it. The no smoking room smelled like smoke. The room interior was dark with harsh LED lighting. Otherwise it seemed clean and service was nice enough. I felt the price I paid was too high for what it was and what it offered (coffee).

We paid for the room and ended up driving back home rather than stay. Initially, we were given room 110 which is right next to where you check in and a door bell rings when the door opens. We requested another room and were send to the back of the building with a view of a couple shopping carts and assorted junk. The room was dark and outdated. It was extremely hot so we turned the a/c on and left for the day. Upon returning there was still a musty odor and the room was too hot to stay in. We turned our key in and neither asked nor were offered a refund. We drove back to Richmond. Won't try

I read reviews of this motel before booking. They were older reviews and mgmt had changed. The person who checked us in did not speak English so we could not communicate with him. I sat in the upholstered chair and within minutes my arms broke out in a rash. I opened the closet and there was moldy luggage and a chair. The rug was soaked. The motel was a place where people rented rooms to party, there was traffic in the parking lot all night We did not feel safe there. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. Horrible experience.

Rude staff & nasty rooms
So my husband is staying at this Motel with one of his coworkers because it is close to his work! I brought our children to visit him and stay the night so I could give him a ride to work in the morning, and we got here after 11 p.m. so he was going to pay the additional fee which is supposed to be $10 per person and children are supposed to be free! The next morning the owner tells us we have to pay $110 for staying the night! Even though their policy is supposed to be $10 per additional person!
In the office there is a sign posted at you have to pay $150 fee if you

I was thinking about coming up with a title for my review and I came up with the following. The Washington & Lee Motel: An Upscale Roach Motel.

Ok, that isn't exactly accurate. The hotel is not really upscale. However, for a fairly cheap (or somewhat expensive if you think about the area) it was shockingly not bad.

Rooms here are $65 per night. I've gotten a lower rate at 4 star hotels in major cities using priceline, but I think it is reasonable for this area. Your other choice is the $200 bed & breakfast. If you are alone, choose the motel. If you are with a lovely lady, don

Very clean and comfortable room. The mattresses were heavenly. Even though the motel was from the 60's, everything was pointed up and in perfect running order. Was impressed by the colors of the older fixtures and tiles....and what perfect condition they were in.

Not a bad place for what it is. We stayed there for a long weekend of boating and fossil hunting at Shark's Tooth Island. We found the fixtures old but clean. The beds were firm and the showers hot with lots of pressure. Over all the room was clean and comfortable. For about $75, all I expect is a clean room with a clean, firm bed, a clean bathroom and a nice hot shower. It delivered all of these.

Our experience was based upon a non-smoking and no pet's allowed room. As of the time of the review, the motel had a no pet policy. We will definitely go back again. It is convenient
