Developing and nurturing your child's love of learning is a responsibility we take very seriously. Our goal is to provide an educational atmosphere that incorporates the Montessori Philosophy emphasizing development of your child's body, mind and spirit. After years of careful observation and working with children, Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) developed her philosophy that the child absorbs learning through experience.

Montessori children learn through a process of discovery and given the proper environment their natural love of learning flourishes. Teachers at Ithan Montessori strive to create a unique learning environment where children are encouraged to respect themselves, others and the environment. Our classrooms provide a prepared environment where children are free to respond to their natural tendency to work.
Services
Ithan Montessori School is an advocate and caretaker of the young child-providing well-rounded educational, cultural and developmental stimuli in a comfortable, cherishing atmosphere. Our mission is to protect and nurture each individual child, teaching respect and care for each other and the environment.
The Montessori approach offers a broad vision of education as an aid to life. It is designed to help children with their task of inner construction as they grow from childhood to maturity. The approach succeeds because it draws its principles from the natural development of the child. Its flexibility provides a matrix within which each individual child's inner directives freely guide the child towards growth.

My son has attended Ithan since he turned two and it has been a very positive experience. The staff is wonderful, the curriculum is strong and kids are engaged. School is well run and staff communicates well with parents. Kids learn about art, music, math, reading, geography, french, life skills (inlcuding cooking!) and have fun along the way. Yoga class is cute. My son attends full day and there is plenty of outside time for kids to run around, explore nature, plant their garden, dig for worms and all the fun stuff pre-schoolers love to do. The Montessori method worked really well for our son
