Terrible stay here due to their pet policies. I have traveled around the country and have yet to experience a hotel/motel that claims to be "pet friendly" and yet charges additional fees that are almost as much as the room cost itself. They first charged my credit card $200 the morning after my stay for not "claiming" my ESAs, then after asserting myself for this charge and being argued with by management for several minutes, management got the owner to agree to charge me the $54 for my 2 dogs. I guess they charge $25 per pet pet night not including taxes. I think the best solution for this owner

Forget the disgustingly dirty room. That's to be expected for the price you pay. What you shouldn't expect is the selling of stolen merchandise scam they have going on. They have a long-term tenant who sells stolen merchandise in their parking lot. Where does she get this merchandise? I speculate that she steals it from the cars parked in the parking lot, or from your room. I also suspect that she is in cahoots with management who gives her access into the rooms when you leave. This person was selling stolen items continually right outside our room. There were also three parked cars with individuals

Rooms were clean and newly renovated. I was upgraded to a room and ith a table because the receptionist thought it would be easier for me to work. It was very kind gesture! I would definitely stay here again. Its in close proximity to the beach, shops and restaurants!

The owners are very rude, the rooms have a horrible smell (mold), bed and pillows are very uncomfortable. I had a really hard time sleeping, so many cops driving by and people with loud engines. The army navy academy next door their fire alarms were going off for about an hour around 3am. Overall, worst hotel I've ever been to.

Outright "thieves" booked a room for a weekend. Was told there IS A 3 day cancelation policy. 3 days prior to check in i call and canceled.. Was told they don't even have a reservation. Low and behold I'm looking at my credit card statement online and whats in there 232.00 charge from this hotel. At first they act as if they will fix "there mistake" now they won't answer my call. (OUTRIGHT THIEVES) Wish i would have yelped this place first........

I just forgot my own personal thick towel, I called right away and right away the front office deny it , the housekeeping deny it how can you be in this kind of place to be expected honesty!! Never Forget anything ( but we are humans we forget) honesty here is not shown or can be shown to anyone ! When you forget your belongings in all honesty you’ll never ever get your stuff back because the a manager Neal and Hortencia housekeeper both will tell you NOTHING!! Don’t expect you get your stuff ! No honesty , no customer help.

This hotel is AMAZING! The location is obviously the biggest positive as it’s blocks away from the beach and from the nightlife scene in Carlsbad. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was. The rooms were clearly newly renovated and everything looked nice. They do a great job cleaning too as everything was super clean and we felt good staying in the rooms. We will definitely stay next time we are in San Diego!

Front desk is rude.

The website says oven or stovetop in the rooms but its not true. They do not refund also so its false advertisement.

This is a great hotel for access to both Carlsbad & Oceanside. Very nice, efficient, and especially great for backing in the car to the door.
The owners have created a great place to stay.

I wasn't to happy with the front desk , she was rude about me checking in early , even tho I paid a little extra. The AC in my room didn't work , so we just kept the Fan on. But this place is close to everything from restaurants and entertainment.

I have stayed here many times in the past and it's a 69 to 89 dollar a night hotel. It's definitely not worth 150 to 200 dollars a night!
On this trip it was extremely poor service, they put us in a room that hadn't been cleaned and they charged me over 200 bucks per night in staying here in the past I thought that was for 2 days! This hotel is definitely not even a 2 star 150 dollar hotel!
Not to mention all there drama that comes with this place knowing I need a 2 bed room and putting us in a single telling us to wait outside before it was even checkout!!
Save yourself some aggravation

If I could give them negative stars, I would. The place doesn't look that great on the outside. The inside doesn't look like it does in the pictures I saw in hotel.com. Inside seemed decent and it looked like the bathroom was updated. My husband and 2 kids checked in at 230pm, left for the beach right after, had dinner, and got back by 830. We had all our stuff inside while we were gone and when got back, my daughter found a cockroach in the bathroom next to our sink which we killed and another one running from the trash to the back of the mini fridge! My husband went to tell someone

Our room feels like a cell. It's small with no closet, and the bleach fumes make it seem like they just cleaned up a crime scene. It's been recently painted and that's nice, but the gouges in the headboard bring me back to wondering about the crime scene.
We arrived a couple hours early and thought we'd ask if our room was possibly ready. "No. It's not ready. If you want to check in before 3:00 you have to pay extra $50." OK. There was one more exchange in our conversation about leaving our car in the parking lot. Overall this woman was just plain unfriendly

I made a reservation and when I went into the office to check in they told me my card was declined and they had no more rooms. I was about to leave, but I went back into the office to tell them not to charge my card and then they said "oh, wait we have a room open." I decided to take the room and I'm not sure if I should have stayed here after seeing the rooms. They're very dirty (just look at all the pictures) and I'm sure they don't wash the top bed sheets. Sink drainage has problems and some of the "clean towels" had hair on them. The walls are very thin

The floor feels gross on bare feet, like it's never been mopped. The bathroom smells gross even though it's been "sanitized". The walls are paper thin, I could hear everything the neighbors were doing and they were not even being obnoxious or anything. They were just living life. The train that passes sounds like it's passing through your room, it's so loud. Which sucks if you just finished putting a cranky kid to bed who then wakes up at the sounds of the train. My friend, who booked the room, was told that you are only allowed to park one car there, even though there

We have stayed here quite a few times, it is an excellent choice for a budget option in walking distance to the Village of Carlsbad! My one complaint is the beds are hard, not super comfortable- but good enough for the price.

The owner is a very nice and accommodating gentleman, who is usually the one who checks us in. They have been updating the rooms very nicely, and we have never had any issues with cleanliness or noise issues. They have always helped us with anything we've asked.

This is not your 5 star resort. This is a basic basic of all basic motel. While roadtripping we decided to head south to visit friends. We didn't book a room until last minute and our choices were 1k places or this place. Of course we picked here. This place is everything you want in a motel. Very clean and recently renovated, it is walking distant to the beach.
We had issues with our microwave and the front desk guy came out to take a look. It was user error.
We also had issues with our door not staying closed. User error again. Oof
While we won't get the waffles and turn down service

Upset that they wouldn't refund and cancel my booking. I had a late flight in that got it at 1 AM in the morning. My 4 year old son was with me, tired and ready for bed. I called the property to see if they would make an exception and she wouldn't at all. Now I'm out $164 dollars. I was just trying to get a last minute room for us to rest.

I got there and all the rooms were booked, in the end we had to go get another room somewhere else.

I found this cozy little place on HotWire . Besides the outstanding deal I received using HotWire, this hotel turned out to be way cool. It's located directly across the street from the Army Navy academy in Carlsbad Ca, almost on the beach. The gentleman at the front desk was helpful and polite. The rooms are small, but they have everything you need. Microwave, fridge, blow drier, etc.

I am always skeptical of a motel. This motel blows every other motel out of the water! Beautiful redesigned interiors and bathrooms. Extremely affordable, a steal for the price.

The biggest hiccup is the management. There is a bit of a language barrier, then asks for a 20$ key deposit.

The motel is new remodeled and based off of previous reviews it's completely turned itself around from the 1 state motel it was before. The rooms are very clean, they even smell brand new still which is nice. New hard wood floors, all tile shower, new sinks and furniture, nice big mini fridge, and in a very good location close to the beach and downtown carlsbad.

It's no frills, nothing fancy but it's absolutely a much nicer motel than what you're going to find in this price range on the 101. Some rooms are smaller tjan others, but they all have the same remodeled look to them
