Services
Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. has a long history of being an independently owned funeral and cremation service provider in the North Country. The current Lundy Funeral Home is a direct business descendant of the Joseph Weekes & Son hardware firm of Harrisville founded in the 1880s. Around 1920, the funeral directing department was sold to Harrisville businessman Ray F. Dunlop.
That's especially the case when it comes to this particular funeral home. Without the love, support and patience of one spectacular woman, I wouldn't be where I am right now; doing the only thing I know how to do. I hope she approves of how I'm handling things. This business that I am in, the business that my father taught me, the business of funeral directing, or undertaking, is about more than caskets, calling hours and cemetery plots.
If you would like to start pre-planning with a compassionate professional who will give you all the information you will need, please call our lead pre-planning counselor. Many people plan for life events such as weddings and vacations well in advance, but many people do not plan for something that is certain to happen, their funeral.
I'd love to help but I just don't know what to say or what I should do. I am sure many of us can identify with such sentiments. We hear that a friend or a neighbour has had a loss. Our hearts immediately go out to them and we long to be of some comfort or assistance but we just don't know what to do or what to say.
After a death, there are many legal details to hammer out. While it is not necessary to get a lawyer, it is strongly recommended. A lawyer will make sure all the 't's are crossed and i's are dotted. The time following a death of a loved one is extremely emotional, and even the closest family will have disagreements over the most trivial matters.
