Dermatology is an area of medicine that focuses on the health as well as diseases of the skin, hair and nails. The skin is the largest organ of the body and has many vital and important functions. Board certified dermatologists are experts in all aspects of skin care and specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of skin cancer and skin diseases.

The skin is a window to the body, and many diseases and conditions show themselves through changes in the skin. Often an integrative approach to health is the most effective. Through extensive continuing education we actively stay current in the latest treatments of diseases of the skin, hair and nails.

Saw Dr. Yang today and I would not recommend. She might be brilliant at research but shes a complete dunce in working with actual patients.
She blew into the patient exam room with two extra people in tow and declared that they were shadowing her today. Didnt give me an option to opt out of being in the zoo cage that she had created. I made a comment that I felt uncomfortable and a little taken aback by this, and she just ignored that. The only acknowledgement she gave of my discomfort was to ask if it was ok for her to talk out loud to everyone in the room about my skin issues. Didnt get much

I only gave one star because "0" stars isn't an option. I am a VA patient and was assigned Dr. Kallal in Bellingham WA as a dermatologist through the VA's Community Care Program. I found her to be condescending, a bit rude, in a rush to get me seen and gone, and having a bit of an "elitist" attitude. I thought I was to receive a long overdue skin cancer screening, but that did not happen. I was so rushed in my office visit by Dr. Kallal that I did not get to ask for my dermatological prescription medications to be renewed. I sent an email to ask for the medications to be filled at the VA pharmacy

Dr Kallal is my dermatologist and has been nothing but kind and helpful to me. When I had hidrocystomas she felt more comfortable referring me to Dr Kassem (an ocular surgeon whom I reviewed and recommend as well) due to how deep they were and because I scar easily. I appreciate that she was concerned about that and wanted to take a conservative approach. Recently I went in due to having found a mole that popped up out of nowhere and she removed it and I am awaiting the results from that biopsy. I also had Botox (Xeomin) for the first time, and because I’m still relatively young and my lines

I’ve been seeing Dr Kallal for many years (6?)for treatment of adult acne, mole checks and some minor cosmetic work. She has always been attentive and helpful with all my questions and I appreciate how she reviews my overall health to find possible ways to treat my skin more conservatively and naturally. The products she has formulated are high end and worth the cost - her skin balm smells amazing and is great for dry patches of skin without causing my acne to flare up and the Marula face serum makes my skin feel amazing. Thank you Dr. Kallal and staff for all your help through the years. When

Great place if you want to work with an unpleasant receptionist, passive aggressive office manager and a doc that misdiagnoses basic skin conditions. Read through the other reviews because there's a pattern of behavior. If you push back with a concern/question (even a little bit), you may get referred to another doc with no explanation. I was a patient for several years but was referred away. My sin? I'd reached out to the doc to discuss an unpleasant conversation I'd had with the receptionist. Their response was to refer me with no conversation or explanation. Come to find out getting "referred

Birch Bay Dermatology just lost three customers: my daughter, me, and my husband.
My 17-year-old daughter phoned to make a routine followup appointment for acne treatment but was told that "the doctor was referring her elsewhere," for unspecified reasons.
I happened to overhear this conversation and thought that was really odd, so I phoned the office for clarification. I was told the same thing.
I then asked which doctor we'd be referred to, and the answer was, any other doctor we wanted to go to. When I inquired whether there was some reason that Dr. Kallal didn't want to treat my daughter

The place is clean. That's about where my compliments end, unfortunately. Upon my first visit, the doctor focused on my weight, offered me to try a diet and only told me of the benefits it'd have on my size. I'm aware that certain foods irritate your skin, and that eliminating some of those prone to do so can improve one's condition. But I was not told that by the derm. Instead, she made it about my weight. Then she pushed her products on me, AFTER telling me my acne (which is not why I was there) was due to a hormonal issue. If you know anything about that, you know that topical products do little

I am totally shocked that anyone would provide a negative review of Dr. Kallal and her office. I have seen four different dermatologists in various places I have lived over the years. I have been seeing Dr. Kallal for the past 4 years. The office is very efficient. I am always seen exactly when my appointment is scheduled because there are not 6-8 people stacked up in the waiting room as with my prior doctors. Dr. Kallal is very smart, astute and clearly well trained. She is also very good at the small surgical procedures occasionally necessary. I would highly recommend her.

I visited Dr. Kallal last year for an emergency regarding an inflamed cyst on my face. I had never been to a dermatologist before and was very apprehensive about having to deal with the situation. Upon arrival for my appointment I was pleasantly greeted by the receptionist. Meeting her staff and Dr. Kallal for the first time, I was instantly put at ease; they are caring and thoughtful. I appreciate her attention to immediate action, as in my case, it was needed. I have been seeing her for a year now for follow-up appointments and every visit makes me feel more relaxed. Dr. Kallal is very straight

The staff is all very nice. They knew returning patients names and were happy to help. The office itself was very appealing and clean.
The doctor was rude. I went in because I have painful acne and discoloration. She did not ask about my concerns or what I was hoping to get out of coming to see her. I feel this is necessary because she is a specialized doctor. For someone who is booked out months in advance I am surprised by her lack of bedside manner
I don't have the worst acne, and I know that it could be worse, but she treated me as though it was ridiculous for me to even come in because of
