The receptionist gave me a quote of $195 over the phone for the initial visit and $95 for each session afterward. The receptionist also advised me I would have to give my credit card information days before my visit! I gave her my account information and later checked my account and noticed she charged me $495! I don’t mind paying but I don’t like being manipulated!

The posts that complain about the cost aren't accurate. The cost is for the initial major consultation. And what one of the comments says is misleading - your insurance very well may cover a large portion of the fee depending on what kind of coverage you have for an out of network provider. However, you have to submit to your own insurance for reimbursement. To me, this is worth it for good psychiatric care. My own insurance has very limited in-network providers and those they do have a part of treatment facilities or other programs that don't serve the general public. And, I was told that after

I’ve been a client of two doctors at this establishment since 1998. I can most emphatically say that these doctors changed my life positively in ways it would take volumes to give a complete history. I truly shudder to think of how my personal and professional life would have suffered without seeking therapy. And trust me, I fought the idea of seeing “someone”.
Please, whatever the issue, do not suffer in silence.
This is a top notch institution with empathetic physicians and the friendliest office staff perhaps in all of Baton Rouge. My experience here has been a game changer.

My first experience was not good. I was put on hold for nearly ten minutes and when someone picked up I was told my husband and I would not be seen by the same Psychiatrist, even separately and that the visit would cost $495 a session. I mentioned I have Blue Cross and was told they don’t accept any insurance and we would have to pay out of pocket. What a racket!
