Founders Rosemary Andrews and Karen Maute both trained at the North Carolina School of Yoga which has since developed into the Shanti Niketan Ashram. Gratitude is given to Chandra Om and her Guru Sri Dharma Mittra. The Danville Yoga and Meditation Center, located in Danville, Virginia, is a small, comfortable space dedicated to promoting the well-being of all who enter.
Small classes allow our certified, dedicated and experienced instructors and therapists to safely guide you. Cyndi Reames, new owner of Danville Yoga and Meditation Center, will continue the legacy of Karen Maute by providing quality teachers and yoga classes to our community and region. Karen studied under the guidance of Chandra Om at the North Carolina School of Yoga.

Before coming to the matCyndi was involved with weight training, Personal Training - even did a few Fitness Competitions. She was interested in yoga, but had not begun a serious practice. After moving from NC to Virginia, she found a local yoga studio where she felt like she belonged, and she began to practice regularly.
The name "Bhagini" is defined in Sanskrit as (bhagini) f. sister ("the happy/fortunate one", as having a brother) any woman. The studio is a sister to Danville Yoga and Meditation Center and how fortunate we are to be in MOD. Yin Yoga uses long, passive holds to work on the deep, dense connective tissues of the body - the tendons, ligaments and cartilage - which are difficult to energize and open.
