Depending on the severity of the case, surgery isn't always a necessary option for relieving symptoms of orthopedic conditions. At Pinnacle Orthopedics, we work closely with our patients to develop a course of non-surgical treatment options that work best for the individual so that it alleviates pain and discomfort caused by acute and chronic orthopedic injuries.
Dr. Elfenbein is originally from New York and moved to the Gunnison Valley from Connecticut where he practiced orthopedic surgery for 16 years. He specializes in Sports Medicine and Upper Extremity Surgery and has extensive experience in total joint replacement. He was named a "Top Doc" for orthopedics by Connecticut Magazine 4 years in a row before leaving the state.
Here at Pinnacle Orthopedics, we'd be fooling ourselves and being dishonest with our patients if we didn't do everything we could to put the patient first. To that end, we offer the lowest dose e-ray in the region! The digital technology is known as DR and uses lower dose radiation than standard CR technology.
It's been 3.5 years since my incident and this was the first surgery I've ever been satisfied with completely. Not once has a doctor explained the procedure or aftercare involved in surgeries like you did. Thank you to all of the surgical team. Dr. Elfenbein operated on my fractured tibia, which is healing beautifully. He is detailed oriented throughout the recovery process. He shows genuine interest in the patient’s personal experience and has a kind manner. His staff are professional and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Elfenbein and the Pinnacle Orthopedics team.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Elfenbein! We feared our three year old daughter had broken her wrist when playing with her sisters in Crested Butte this summer. We had her x-rayed at a clinic across the street, there was no sign of a fracture, but they put a soft cast on her to be safe. The next day we popped into Dr. Elfenbein's office on a whim for a second opinion. After reviewing our daughter's x-ray and performing some simple tests with her wrist and elbow, he deduced that she may have nurse-maid's elbow, something his own son had experienced several times.
