In 2007, Iron Horse Transportation started as a 2-man operation. Beginning with one customer who we still service today, Iron Horse began to grow slowly and steadily. While earning a reputation for on-time service, our accountability to our customers helped to spread the word and gather new business.
Iron Horse Transport is successfully moving building materials to union job sites in New York every day. From palletized material to heavy haul equipment, over dimensional cargo, air conditioning units, boilers, etc. We haul it all. The benefits of using a Local 282 union carrier are many, when it comes to doing business in the New York area.
Iron Horse Transport offers customized port drayage services in New York and New Jersey. We transport from the port, to the final destination, or to the storage facility and then the final mile. Iron Horse Transport has the necessary drayage services bonding and licensing. We take containers in and out of ports, harbors, warehouses and rail terminals in New York and New Jersey.
With our Container Freight Station (CFS) services, we can safely, securely, and efficiently move your freight from the Port of New York or New Jersey to your final destination. Our Import Deconsolidation service will reduce the time your container is in the port. We provide appropriate storage while awaiting relocation.
The last mile of delivery through NYC and the 5 boroughs requires specific knowledge and capabilities. Our Final Mile Delivery Service will safely transport your merchandise from local warehouses to the job site. The term Final (or last) Mile Delivery is a service where goods are transported from a hub to the final destination.
