I've been making fine, hand-crafted furniture for over 20 years. I left the corporate world to pursue an alternate career while woodworking nearly full time. My academic training is in Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering and Business Management and this background complements my interest in woodworking.
The base is finished with shellac and wax, while the top is finished with an oil / polyurethane mixture. These hall tables can be used as a combination of a hall table and dining room sideboard. I've built many hall tables from 36 to 52 inches in length and heights of 26 to 32 inches. What would fit in your space?
These chests are built with 14 drawers that are lined with a very rich upholstery grade velvet on a foam covered board. The chest has a frame and panel back and the drawer fronts are cut sequentially from a bookmatched, quilted maple panel. The drawer fronts are finished with super blonde shellac and wax and the case is finished with boiled linseed oil and wax.
