The Department of Ophthalmology is located in floor 2 of building 2 of Medical Center Clinic's main campus. It offers a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with eye-related problems or diseases. The physicians have subspecialty training and experience in corneal and external diseases, cataract surgery, glaucoma, retinal diseases, pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, vitreous diseases and occuloplastic, orbital and reconstructive surgery.
Specialized diagnostic services include fundus and slit-lamp photography, corneal topography, specular photomicroscopy of the corneal endothelium, computerized automated perimetry and fluorescein angiography.

Jerry Suelflow, M.D. specializes in diseases of the retina and vitreous, including macular degeneration, diabetes and retinal detachments. He obtained his medical degree, followed by an ophthalmology residency, from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After completing retinal surgery subspecialty training at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, he spent four years as an Air Force ophthalmologist at Kessler Air Force Base.
Danielle Tozzo, PA-C, obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Photographic Communications from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. She went on to obtain her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the Chatham University, Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to joining Medical Center Clinic, Danielle gained experience working in general surgery, family medicine, psychiatry, and interventional radiology.

He prepared me with every detail about my cataract surgery so I had no worries at all that I was going to be in the care of a fabulous physician. I had cataract surgery done by Dr, Tim McLaughlin on June 9th, 2021, and I was very impressed by the courtesy and professionalism of the Doctor and the entire support staff at the Eye Institute. Every single person I encountered from the technicians in pre-op to the post-op counseling were top notch. I will have my other eye worked on in the near future, and I have no concerns about the procedure because I know that I will be in good hands. Dr. Mickler, his staff, and The Eye Institute at Medical Center Clinic, are top-notch! From scheduling the initial examination for my three-year-old in an expeditious manner, to leaving the clinic after the first appointment and purchasing glasses in the optical shop, we could not have asked for a better experience. I have had multitoric lens with correction for astigmatism from Dr McLaughlin. I can read and see all distances without glasses. It is the best thing I have ever bought. They are so wonderful my wife is starting her first eye this coming week. She will be amazed!! You need to see difference between eyes after having first eye done, the colors and clarity are outstanding. And as a bonus... sunglasses, and safety glasses no longer are prescription. I've saved enough on those alone, to pay for the best lenses!! I thank you every day!

I have just recently purchased lens for the Eye Center at West Florida. Everyone that I have come in contact with at the Center is polite, friendly, and helpful. I went back today (9/20) for adjustment to my frames. The technician was successful in adjusting the frames so the lens are in alignment. I have had several other centers adjust them without success. I am also going to switch to he Center for my routine eye exams. They are doing a very good job.

Dr. McLaughlin and his specialized team of certified ophthalmic assistants are a super bowl team in the diagnosis and treatment of eye anatomy, including the performance of complex surgeries, and follow up. I am a recipient of Right and Left Eye Cataract Extraction with Trifocal Intraocular Lens Implants. Both surgeries were extremely successful. In summary, I am impressed with Dr. McLaughlin's salutary sophistication and professional expertise, including that of is magnificent staff. Took my father, Sammy McGowin, to see Dr. McLaughlin, who performed cataract surgery on him two months ago. He has done extremely well and has received the utmost care at The Eye Institute. They work in a timely manner, are extremely knowledgeable of the services provided, and give step by step follow up instructions. They provide excellent care for their patients.
