The Counseling Center offers multiple options for those seeking help, coping with stress, & mental health concerns. Your life experience is one of growth and learning. We all face a variety of challenges and obstacles in life. You may come across moments that are not easy to talk about - struggling academically, navigating personal relationships, what it's like to live with mental health concerns.
Couples seek counseling for many reasons and at many different stages of their lives, even when they are not experiencing any overt difficulties. Some seek counseling to strengthen their bond, relate with more ease or prepare for the next step in their lives together. Others come in crisis, uncertain of their futures or whether resolution of their problems is even possible.
Our therapists are equipped to walk with you through marriage and family difficulties assisting you in forming a healthy foundation for your marriage. Our family lives can be tremendously gratifying and enriching. They can also become a source of tension, especially during periods of stress. Such responses to stress are often normal, but you may need some help from time to time.
Even children in very loving families can experience emotional difficulties. It can be profoundly distressing to see your child struggle, and not know how to respond, or to try and help, but see them continue to suffer. Fortunately, psychotherapy can help. Since children process their experience differently than adults, psychotherapy typically involves some element of play.
You're Not Alone. Joining a group of strangers may sound intimidating at first, but group therapy provides benefits that individual therapy may not. Psychologists say, in fact, that group members are almost always surprised by how rewarding the group experience can be. Groups can act as a support network and a sounding board.
