I always say that I got my doctorate in people, not rats, meaning that I have a doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) not research. My bread and butter is finding behavioral solutions to complex problems. I have expertise in psychological and neuropsychological assessment which is a bit like detective work.
I listen to symptoms and use standardized testing to diagnose, treat, and write school and work accommodations like IEP and 504 plans. My career and life changed when I had children as what was once a job became much more personal. Now I try to treat every child and parent I see with the same care as I treat my own family.

Children require interaction in therapy. Thus, the kind of therapy appropriate for children is more interactive and attention grabbing than other populations. At Pavilion, we have a dedicated play room to integrate sand tray, art, and experiential work. Dr. Baker combines individual and family therapy to assist in working with the whole family to solve complex problems.
I'm not so ancient that I've forgotten how cool I felt when I'd wear my new school clothes the second day of school (because wearing new schools on the first day back was uncool). I remember the freedom of how it felt to drive by myself in my new (used) car or how it ached to have my heart crushed by a first love.
We all have difficulty sometimes in life. Whether it's career adjustment, problems within the family, workplace stress, or career coaching, Dr. Baker walks the journey with you. In adult therapy, she assists with clarify goals, correctly identifying symptoms, and helping you achieve a peaceful resolution to conflict and worry.
I realized my views were changing after I had two kids of my own and started siding with parents in movies. I started to say to myself "Oh come give that mom a break- look at all she's doing!" So while I'm young at heart, I also can speak to parents. Sometimes it's a struggle to know how to help your child and who to turn to and trust.
Often, adults began realizing that symptoms that they had in childhood continue into adulthood. Many adults did not have the access to care that we currently have with regards to mental health diagnoses and psychoeducation. Thus, sometimes problems were overlooked in childhood that may be treatable today.

So I know that a family member went to see Beth Miller at Pavilion psych and was told that she was not qualified to treat the person. She did not refer them forward to somebody who was qualified to treat the family member. Their response to a previous complaint about exactly this problem is just them covering their behind us. Beth did not take the time to even write a proper discharge letter. She sent an email which is inappropriate. This is as inappropriate as her discontinuing care of the family member and refusing to refer them to somebody who could properly treat them since she has the training

The staff was polite but they are not trained enough for serious matters. I took my significant other here to get help and when she spoke to one of there team about how her mental state is and how she doesn't want to recover she just wants help understanding herself. The member said quote "I can't help you" Very unprofessional and not helpful what so ever. If I wasn't here I don't know how this event would have affected her behavior in a negative way.

Dr. Baker is wonderful. She is very thorough in her evaluations. She also listens and spends time with her patients, as well as their family members. Based on my experiences with her, she truly cares and always goes above and beyond - a quality that is rare to find these days! I highly recommend Dr. Baker and Pavilion Psychological Services!!
