Our team of Diet and Nutrition professionals have a combined decades worth of experience, and have served in settings ranging from clinical to corporate. Shana Maleeff, MA, RD, CDN, ACE-GFI, received a BS in Nutrition from Penn State University and an MA in Nutrition Education from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania.
She works on Long Island coaching clients on nutrition, fitness, weight management, disease prevention, and lifestyle modification to help them actualize their best selves. She also uses a clinically proven weight loss program to help people see real results. In addition, she teaches group fitness classes like Cycling, Sculpting, Barre, and TRX at Equinox on Long Island.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom Zachmann. I had struggled with overeating and how to make healthy/balanced meals. With the help from Tom, I learned how to make healthy choices and to recognize when I was full. Tom was a great resource to keep me on track as well as a motivator in setting new goals for myself!

I have been working with Eleana throughout my pregnancy and it’s been an amazing experience! We started working together in a preventive capacity to be sure I was providing baby (and myself) with proper nutrition and I couldn’t be happier with our progress. I took advantage of the extra time I had working from home through Covid to start working with Joelle in April 2020 to lose weight I gained after a car accident Summer 2019. The program makes it much more manageable than anything I've tried on my own! I'm still cooking my own meals, but my diet is much more varied now, and I'm steadily losing weight while not feeling hungry throughout the day which is a first. After about 2 years of gaining weight from just life happening (broke my arm, went on anxiety medication (almost off), moved from one coast to another, etc.) I decided it was time to do something it. I was unhappy about my weight gain - felt uncomfortable and had terrible body shame. My experience with Shana at Food and Fitness Pro has been great so far. I couldn't figure out why when I thought I was eating healthy and working out multiple times a week I was still not losing weight and feeling sluggish all the time. Shana helped me re-evaluate my eating patterns, made great suggestions to help me reach my goals and to ramp up my workouts. I've lost weight, love how my clothes fit me now, and I am just so much more comfortable in my own skin. Key factors - I never though I could do a low carb diet - not only am I doing it but I love it and do not miss the bread or pasta or potatoes

I was referred to Shana by a friend of mine who had great success working with her, but I wasn't sure if we could work together because I live so far from her office. It was great to find out that she could assist me on my time and via telephone. What I really like about the process is the education overall. I had no concept that the way I was eating and pairing my foods was detrimental to my health. When I started working with Shana, I struggled with putting in the requisite time, as my work was unpredictable. Many of the same factors that made it difficult to commit to a healthy diet played a role in making it difficult to commit to weekly sessions--unpredictability of work and other commitments. Shana was always willing to accommodate the unpredictability of my schedule and make time for me even when I know she was otherwise busy. I always appreciated that if I had to cancel, she would make every effort to make up the session. I loved that she was such a caring and non-judgmental person

Shana is an instructor at my gym, and I thought about approaching her to work on nutrition and weight loss for a while before I finally did it. I had a fear of the unknown, and I was nervous I would fail and have to face her if I was not successful. But when we started meeting, I learned that Shana is easy to talk to. She is understanding and can see how I look at myself and provide insight as to why I may do or think in certain ways. I really enjoy the one-on-one attention and accountability in working with Shana as a nutritionist and how she considers alternate ways to approach my weight loss

I was initially hesitant to meet with Shana because I had a fear of change. I was excited to see what she had to offer, but I was also afraid of change and not being in control of my food. I remember warning her during my first appointment that I was stubborn just so that she wouldn't expect much of me. Even though I needed to improve my eating habits, I didn't want Shana to come in and create a storm in my life. I did not want anyone dictating what I could and could not do; what I could or could not eat. After my initial consultation, I felt like I was still on two feet. I felt even more grounded

When I first thought about meeting with a nutritionist, I was worried I would not be able to commit to the whole journey. I was also concerned that sometimes I may not be able to keep appointments because of my children.
I found out by working with Shana that she made the journey so easy and she was not judgmental if I had a
bad day or even a bad week. Her schedule worked so well for me because I was able to meet with her early or even speak via phone if I had problems getting someone to pick up my children from school.
