Process Controls is often shrouded by the veil of fear and the mystique of a magic box that automates the plant. I often say that Integrators are the doctors of the industrial world. We are tasked with faithfully executing a duty upon the most intimate parts of a process, with our reputation and livelihood at stake while doing so.
ICE Process Management takes that duty on with all the same onus put upon all such professionals, to shred the veil of secrecy and disclose exactly what the true costs, risks, and values are when evaluating a process controls decision.

Managing Partner, Brian McWhorter, began his career with eight years in the specialty chemical plant operations where FDA standards were applied to unique reactive batch production. Finding the greatest satisfaction in plant construction and start-ups, he began to focus on renewable energy projects, where many plants were being built on rapid timelines and tight budgets.
ICE does keep on-board the capacity to handle most aspects of engineering commonly found in the process industry. That said, it is most common for us to focus on the process engineering, automation systems engineering and operational integration. Using our process system engineering and physical design capabilities, ICE develops a custom modular process system for your company's proprietary base process technology.
Project Management can be difficult enough on its own. In concert with the complexities, ambiguities and technical vernacular that is involved in process controls, project managers can quickly be led down rabbit holes without a clear way out, leaving them feeling trapped and vulnerable. Anyone having experienced this is probably familiar with this feeling on a visceral level.
ICE Process Management owns its own development platform for DeltaV projects, so development can proceed rapidly and at a relatively low cost. We are experienced in all 3 generations of DeltaV software/hardware. ICE uses a test-driven approach to system development, which allows for the client to be able to expect what will be delivered.
ICE engineers determined that there are a few things that complicate the creation of DeltaV Batch programs. First is the matter of planning and defining the batch itself. While the steps are probably obvious to process engineers and operators, many times it is simple statements of obvious activities that are missed in programming.
