Based off an old family restaurant called Sam's Oyster House, STEWBY'S Seafood Shanty is a small take-out and dine-in seafood restaurant in Fort Walton Beach. STEWBY'S offers the most affordable and freshest local seafood available. Featuring everything that made Sam's great including Sam's gumbo and signature sandwiches with coleslaw and tater sauce on a sesame seed bun.
All the fried and grilled items are prepared just as Sam did. All the seafood is fresh and locally bought. The fish come straight from the docks in Destin and other neighboring counties. The oysters are always fresh shucked from Bon Secour Fisheries in Alabama with an occasional supply from Apalachicola Florida.

Hi! I'm Stewart Taylor and this is my little seafood shanty. STEWBY'S Seafood Shanty is based off an old family restaurant called Sam's Oyster House. Sam's Oyster House was founded by my father Sam Taylor back in the late 60's as a small seafood take-out. Unfortunately Sam's closed 1 year later at the hands of the new owners.

The food is good but the menu does not mirror other Stewby locations. Crestview does not carry the tacos (fish or shrimp) which is very disappointing. In addition, a drink does not come with the kids meal like it does at Ft. walton beach. I tried to find a menu for them prior to going in but could not find any posted menu.
I won’t eat there again until they bring in shrimp tacos.

First time I’ve eaten at Stewby’s. Heard a lot of good things about the FWB location. Today was the 1st day open and we decided to go. Everything new, lots of seating (that’s well spaced for germaphobes like me). Have a nice big area for outdoor seating too on the side. Good (fresh) sandwiches and Georgia cornbread! (See pics) Their coleslaw it the best I’ve tasted in a long while. Everything is made to order so have patience when you go. A little on the pricey side but the portions were quite large and it’s to be expedited with the situation this world is in. Drive through

Crestview location is serving up the excellent, affordable local seafood we have come to expect from the FWB and Okaloosa Island locations. I placed a large carryout order by phone, and they quoted me a 15 minute order pick up time. I got there early and was out the door in less than 5 minutes! Excellent service, friendly smiles, fantastic food.
Grilled mahi sandwich was outstanding. Cheese grits are my favorite anywhere. The high end (and expensive $$$$) waterfront location restaurants in Destin, etc would do well to learn how to make fish taste this great! And at less than half the price!
