I just went up to meet Marcus at his shop, thanks for spending some time with me showing me around! What an awesome selection of sizes, thicknesses and types-PLUS you couldn't find a nicer guy. I'm sure I will be back up to spend some $$ in the future. Someone who would spend the time for a newbie like me will get my business for sure!
We regularly stock an assortment of kiln-dried hardwood lumber. Reduction of moisture through our intricate drying methods eliminate the presence of distortion, unnatural staining, or drying stresses like warping or bowing. You can see our fantastic kiln in action when you browse our warehouse. Live edge slabs, burls, and hardwoods are sought for the creative design opportunities they present.
Since 2014, we have been supplying an assortment of kiln-dried live edge slabs and dimensional lumber (oak, ash, walnut, cherry), artisanal pieces, barn beams, and mantels. All of our wood is from logs that are hand-selected and sawn on-site. It is then vacuum dried in our kiln to help eliminate the presence of distortion, unnatural staining, bowing, and warping.
Vacuum drying is not a new technology, its use for drying wood has been around since the early 1900s, granted much research on this drying method has only been accomplished since the mid-1980s. In vacuum drying, wood is placed in an airtight vessel under less than atmospheric pressure, while heat is transferred to the material using one of several methods.

We recently went to the shop to pick out something we could make into a centerpiece for my mom's birthday. There was such a great assortment of wood to choose from. Marcus gave us his expert insight on what would be unique and special for my mom, and our interaction with him was only good. I could tell that he really enjoys what he does, and the centerpiece looks great on the kitchen counter.
