My Grandmother died in this facility after being admitted for a 2 week rehabilitation from a hip injury. The intake nurse was very assuring that she was in great hands and we would get updates everyday and do an outside visitation because inside visitation was not allowed due to Covid. As soon as she was admitted, it was impossible to get ahold of anyone. We got no daily updates. We couldn't speak to her or a nurse. We called multiple times a day and the phone just rang and rang. If a nurse did answer they were rude and said the phones wouldn't reach the rooms and they didn't have access to any

First impressions is outstanding intake is well done by Jewel and you are given the impression the staff is there to support your loved ones and the family especially during these scary times with COVID. However, the experience changes rapidly once your loved one is taken into the facilities. The ability to reach them and check on them becomes very difficult. If you do get ahold of the nurse they tend to have an attitude as though you are bothering them and after 3:00pm it is almost impossible to get the phone picked up by anyone to validate your loved one is doing ok or to even talk to them. Really homelike and never has that smell that nursing homes have sometimes. The caregivers were polite when I visted, people seem happy. Kinda place I’d bring my own Mom.

Lack of management skills/knowledge, poor nursing ratios, management constantly not properly compensating paychecks. They really put the SHADY in Shady Nook. Unable to keep employees due to poor working conditions and poor management. Do not place your loved one in this facility!

The floor staff love the patients and take quality care of them but they are left unsupported when it comes to management. It's a good facility to place your loved one in, but it's a bad facility to work at. My mom has her favorite aid who always put a smile on, but you can tell she's overworked.
