We are a family-centered traditional Karate school with a mixed martial arts curriculum for children and adults. Our focus is to develop the skills necessary to defend yourself on the playground or in a parking lot, establish a routine of physical fitness, and practice traditional life skills that lead to a life of integrity.
We offer a curriculum specially designed program to cater to the different abilities and aptitudes of adults, teens, and children. Unlike most of the successful martial arts chains, we do not "give away" belts. Our belt advancement is demanding and rigorous, to ensure the physical, mental and emotional growth that is necessary to earn the rank of Black Belt!

When signing up for class, you can attend as many group classes each week as you desire at the dojo in Hurst. These are group classes that last approximately 45 minutes each and can be seen on the class calendar.

We signed up our son expecting karate and got SOOO much more.
Legends martial arts doesn’t just teach technique and skill but they also emphasize character development into their lessons. They teach them life skills that will influence them the rest of their lives. I highly recommend LMA for adults and children!

I enrolled my son at age 4 to begin instruction at Legends. Throughout the last three years, Master Burleson and his tribe have taught my son to jab and cross, and to establish competence in kicks and defense as a Warrior Black Belt. Rex went from a wild child, sticking his feet and toes in his mouth during session to leading his class to attention. The instructor: student ratios are incredibly small and each kid gets specialized attention to correct form. We love our team at Legends Martial Arts. The instructors are friendly and engaging with all the students. Our son loves the knockout workouts and life lessons they teach there. My son has Asperger's and has been attending Legends Martial Arts for just over a year now. His self confidence has really grown, his coordination and balance have improved substantially and he has really come out of his shell when it comes to making friends and trying different things. The Legends Family is simply amazing! Their dedication to their students, their inclusiveness, the way they encourage everyone and build them up is just awesome. I can't even begin to express my love for this place. Chance Burleson and the other instructors are just amazing people and I recommend ALL kids take classes

This is a place of positive reinforcement for solid values. The confidence and leadership that are coming from Master Burleson and his instructors is something that can't be taught. Its a life skill, a way of living each day. And they are passing it onto kids with play, hard work and encouragement.
It's so nice to go and watch the instructors work with the kids and know they are having as much fun as the kids are.

Legends is great! The instructors have great personalities and make it fun. It's completely family friendly, my 2 kids and I train there. They really work the curriculum to fit any age or skill level. It is a great workout and has really helped me get into shape... I've lost about 15 pounds since joining! Definitely recommend it for some health promoting/quality family time.

My daughter started with Legends when she just turned 3. We have been in the Little Warriors program for about 18 months now. I have been very impressed with not only the program but the instructors as well, they have patience beyond my expectations.I chose karate for my daughter because I believed that it would be something valuable she could carry throughout her life. I love not only the art in itself, but the life lessons she learning in the process, respect, confidence ,courage and determination to name a few. Everyday, I see the positive effect it has on her at home, school, and in public
