What if a husband and wife have divided their debts and assets and negotiated legal custody, physical custody and parenting time on their own? Is an attorney necessary to finalize the divorce? An attorney can be retained to draft the approximately 10 forms necessary to complete a divorce. Some clients hire the attorney to complete and file the 60-70 pages necessary to finish a divorce.
Legal and physical custody must be determined for the children. Initially, a custody determination is based upon the "best interests of the child, " which is an examination of 12 factors set forth in Minnesota law. If custody was established in the past, then custody can only be changed by written agreement or by showing physical or emotional harm or endangerment to the child under the current arrangement.

Jessica is not only very professional and knows what she is doing! She is in your corner from the very beginning. Even with the first initial meeting, she is there for you! She is very direct and helps you stay on track. She is fair and will let you know exactly how things will be and are going to go but is also a fighter for you! No question is too small or 'dumb'....she is there to help! I'd recommend her over and over! Very happy I went with Sterle Law Office!

My divorce has been the complete opposite of smooth, easy and quick - it's been long, complicated and extremely frustrating, but Jessica has been absolutely fantastic. She has done everything in her power to try to keep things moving forward regardless of the hiccups we have run into. She's quick to take action on things I request whether it be a letter to the other party or a motion within the Court. She also tries to work in a cost effective measure. Divorce is expensive, she knows that and tries to keep my fees down as much as she can. She's not wasting my retainer fees on pointless actions

I cannot praise the Sterle Law Office enough. Jessica is extremely efficient, hardworking, and organized. She handled my court case from beginning to end and kept me informed every step of the way. Although it's been over two years since Jessica handled my case, when I reached out last week to ask her a few legal questions, Jessica was more than happy to help. If I ever need to hire another lawyer, Jessica will be my first choice.

I have to say, I set up an account just to be able to do this review. This is my first review ever, but feel it is very important for others to know just what to consider when picking a lawyer to assist you in your needs. My husbands case was a very difficult and stressful case. I will say for fathers out there if you are looking for a lawyer that will do everything possible to get what is fair for you and your children Jessica is the attorney to have in your corner. She is straight forward, doesn’t beat around the bush, and when it comes right down to the point, she will be the strong woman

Jessica was a godsend in a very trying time for me. I went into the divorce process knowing absolutely nothing about what steps needed to be taken. She took the time to understand what my short and long term goals were, and explained the necessary process beginning to end to me. Also, she was stern with me when I needed to hear it, even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear.
Most of all, when working with her, I felt like I was her only client. During our meetings, I had her full attention, and it never felt like I was a bother to her. She is easy to communicate via phone/email, and has an excellent

Attorney Jessica Sterle made me confident in her abilities from the first conversation we had. She was honest and upfront about what she could do for my case, even to the point of being honest about the chances of success originally. When my circumstances changed, I knew she was the attorney I wanted to represent me. She listened to my concerns, did the work to support my case, and represented me well in court. She is respectful and well-researched. I am grateful for the excellent representation.
