Iowa Grape Vines started in 2001 in Preston, IA as a grape vine nursery. In 2006 we started bottling 100% grape juice. In 2009 we became a Winery and started producing dry to sweet wines and wine jellies. In 2013 we moved our location to Maquoketa Iowa. We no longer bottle grape juice, but now bottle old fashioned root beer in addition to our wines.
In 2015 we entered our first wine competition at Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. We entered four wines and received a medal for each of the four wines: one double gold medal, two silver medals, and one bronze medal. Since 2017 we've entered a total of 26 wines into either international, national, or state wine competitions and have received 25 medals.

The owners are very nice people. Who will treat you well. Great tasting local wines. Especially the sweet wines. All are good. Whenever I come here I always buy plenty of root beer. When I saw root beer jelly for sale, I was apprehensive at first on trying it. Ended up being my favorite jelly! If you're in the Maquoketa area or passing by on highway 61. You need to stop in and give these folks a visit.

I like wine.
I love smaller wineries. There is so much love put into the product when it's a "mom & pop" feel.
I got that feeling rolling into the driveway this morning.
Signs to the tasting room lead to happiness.
The little guard dogs vocalize from the house as we walk into the tasting area.
Inside the building is a nice set up. The tasting bar and multiple tables.
We got to sit and chat with the owner. He said they started in Preston but since have moved to this great location.
The first two tastes are free.
