Koval Taekwondo & Self Defense
Koval Taekwondo and Self Defense teaches power Taekwondo modernized and supplemented with techniques from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Boxing, Wrestling, and Muay Thai. In addition to the sport and self defense of martial arts, we teach De-Escalation, Anti-Bullying, Flexibility and Fitness. Come enjoy our community experience in martial arts, where you will make friends that will last a lifetime.

We don't hand out belts. Belts are earned. It takes between 7-9 Years to earn a black belt in this program because we do a lot more than most Taekwondo programs. Guaranteed effectiveness based on a structured development program that uses modern training methodology and the use of concepts and systems.
Services
Taekwondo, which translates as the way of foot and fist, emphasizes dynamic kicking, particularly to the head, along with explosive footwork and movement. This style is the framework upon which we build all other striking. We practice a more traditional, functional Taekwondo, rather than the sport or family style Taekwondo that is more common.
In additions to an emphasis on Concepts and Systems, it is important to have a well established training methodology. Most martial arts schools tend to use outdated training methodology and receive the same limited results. We are attempting to constantly improve our systems of development and coaching to provide the best results.
The Nemean Fight System is a unique system developed and pressure tested that is way ahead of what most other martial arts are teaching. This is an approach to fighting for sparring, self defense, or competition that uses systems to take the chaos out of the fight and put the fight so it is always on your terms.
It is our belief that systems and concepts combined with training methodology create great fighters, not technique selection which is the commonly taught method in most martial arts. So the idea was formed to begin to create a unique system that would do what no other system can. A core aspect is a strong defense that is impenetrable, like the Nemean Lion from which it is named.
The Hierarchy Principle - The Hierarchy principle states there are one or more critical battles that take place during the fight that need to be identified and overcome. 2. The Funneling Principle - The funneling principle states if you limit your opponent's movement better predict their responses to a manageable level.

Devil Dog Martial Arts (FKA. Koval Taekwondo) is a martial arts school led by Master Greg Koval. The school was completely remodeled in 2021 with improved mats and an updated curriculum.
Master Greg, combines his background in taekwondo, Brazilian jiu jitsu and the Marines martial arts program into a blended style characterized by fast and dynamic stand-up fighting and technical grappling.
Devil Dog regularly invites students from other schools to cross-train during sparring nights. As a heavy (215lbs) grappler, I attend Devil Dog to work on kicks, gain speed and flexibility, and have some fun
