Berg Lighting Design offers a full spectrum of lighting consulting services to enhance architecture, landscape and fine art. Jeffrey T. At the main entry vestibule tall custom sconces illuminate the two story circular room. These fixtures introduce the idea of rounded diffusing planar forms that continues throughout the building. A special proceedings court room makes use of extra height with a central cove and a large version of the court chandelier for dramatic effect.
The museum needed more space to show its collection of modern art and host exhibits of current work. The Lois Foster Wing makes a new place for art. Highlighting the art to be visible through glass and large openings enhances the idea of transparency and accessibility. Halogen wallwashers and object lights with ultraviolet filters accent the works of art with excellent color rendering and precise optical control.
In most of the courtrooms the paneling extends over the ceiling and small square fluorescent downlights are detailed into the system. Adjustable fixtures with halogen PAR lamps accent the judge and litigants while also supplying task light. Fluorescent lamp color resembles the halogen color. Custom sconce halogen uplights illuminate the paneled ceiling, providing diffuse fill light and decorative accents.
Central to the museum and its stories is the whale. A challenge was to illuminate this complex skeleton that can be viewed from almost any angle while minimizing glare. Adjustable fixtures recessed in the curved ceiling and mounted on tracks highlight the skeleton and provide ambient illumination while keeping projected images visible.
