Boar's Head Brand began in the New York City area in 1905. Products were delivered by horse-drawn wagon to small delicatessens and "Mom and Pop" stores. By 1933, distribution of Boar's Head Brand products had grown. It was at that time that the founder, Frank Brunckhorst, dissatisfied with the quality of cooked hams which were available to him, decided that he would open a manufacturing plant of his own.

The first plant was started in a small building in Brooklyn with only three employees. Even back then there were thousands of delicatessens in New York City, and there were a great number of small manufacturers of delicatessen specialties. The competition among these manufacturers was keen; and as a result, very high standards were set for the quality of delicatessen products.

This deli is awesome! We got three sandwiches and loved each one. The shrimp salad is amazing and was so loaded with full size shrimp they were falling out of the sandwich. The club was piled high with deli meats and cheese. My teenager almost swallowed it whole. The prosciutto and mozzarella was authentic. My Italian husband approved! We will definitely be going back soon.

Great food, chicken salad and shrimp salad are the bomb. Prices are a little high but well worth it. Now the bad part. The rude SOB behind the counter should be removed from customer service. When I ask for egg salad, and then commented on how many other people wanted it through the week, the reply I got was plenty of people want it but you can only get it on Monday. And as he said if I wanted it that bad I would be there on Monday. It's not what matters to the customer it's what matters to him. And I quote him...... it seems to work out fine for me. I don't have any left over on Tuesday morning

Ocean Pines is fortunate to have such a wonderful Deli right at our doorstep. The sandwiches are huge and fresh and the shrimp salad and crab cakes are among the best I have ever eaten. They're busy so call ahead if you don't want to wait!

They have great shrimp salad, although I think it's a bit pricey. The crab cakes are some of the best I've gotten down here. You can buy them "raw" and broil them at home later for dinner. Wine prices are decent. Gr8 deli meats and sandwiches. And much more.

Super clean, friendly, fantastic food with very high quality deli meats and cheeses. Also an excellent selection of beverages in the liquor store. It is a little expensive and you do wait a little bit, but it's 100% worth the time and money.
